This is the smallest, lightest and by some distance the cheapest of the three radios compared here. It’s also the most basic. The guarantee is limited to one year rather than three like the others, and there’s no Bluetooth so you can’t control it from another device or use it to stream audio wirelessly. Nevertheless, it has and has good output volume and DAB, DAB+ and FM reception, although you can’t save preset stations. The radio has a wide bandwidth of 30 Hz to 18 KHz and volume and sound quality are good thanks to the presence of four tweeter drivers, two sub-woofers, a class D amplifier and a digital sound processor. The most handy and impressive feature of the DWST-75663 is surely the fact that it will charge Dewalt Li-ion 18v Batteries! (But only when powered by the supplied AC Adaptor). Meaning of course that if you already have a charger you can charge at least 2 batteries on the go at the same time... whilst listening to your favourite tunes.

Inside the compartment you’ll find the USB charger (outputting a beefy 2.4Hz for the most demanding phones and tablets), allowing you to juice up your phone, SatNav, e-cigarette, etc, while you’re blasting the tunes, along a 3.5mm auxiliary input for non-bluetooth devices you want to get sound from. Along with the protection against water and dust afforded by its IP54 rating, DeWALT has wrapped the DWST1-75663 up in tough, rubber bumpers; it really does live up to its “ToughSystem” branding.

At the time of writing, this radio is more than twice the price of the DCR020-GB. It’s also around double the size and weight, which makes it more difficult to carry around.
