About this deal

While maintaining the semblance of ordinary lives, they clandestinely remain a beacon of hope, and a symbol of unity. Together they are determined to solve complex mysteries and restore peace in the wake of shattered lives. However, the looming question is: will their unity and strength be enough to outmaneuver the concealed evil before it's too late? A third theory as to why Doveland seemingly vanished from existence is that Doveland might have been destroyed by a “military science experiment that went horribly wrong”. This sounds ominous, to be sure, but is most likely speculation from those who think the “rule of cool” applies to the real world. According to Redditor Reconsct, they and their two best friends were traveling near Snowshoe, a mountain and ski resort in West Virginia, when they got “ very lost.” Eventually, they came to a little town that was “absolutely deserted. I'm talking not a single sole [sic] to be seen anywhere.” Rankerand ObdscUrban Legends also offer more theories as to how Doveland, Wisconsin may have completely vanished including;

Several theories have been suggested that might explain the disappearance of an entire town. The first theory is that Doveland was destroyed by an earthquake which could have caused a massive sinkhole that swallowed up the town.According to the creepypasta, the town of Ashley, KS, and all 679 of its residents disappeared into a “smoldering, burning fissure in the earth measuring 1,000 yards in length and approximately 500 yards in width.” This supposedly occurred in the early morning of August 17, 1952, when the United States Geological Survey measured the aforementioned quake, with its epicenter directly below the town. In terms of more realistic theories, those often center on Doveland being destroyed by damming (which did actually happen to other Wisconsin towns over the years), all of the residents moving away for one reason or another, or the fact that it was a military town that ceased to exist (possibly part of Project Sanguine) – or was actually destroyed in a military experiment gone terribly wrong. Plenty of people on the internet will tell you about their fathers talking about living in a place called Doveland as part of some secret military operation. Supposed Evidence of Doveland, Wisconsin’s Existence

You might just call it an urban legend, but there are many people out there who are convinced that Doveland, Wisconsin was a real town. And not only was it a real place, but it was a Wisconsin town that allegedly vanished into thin air sometime in the 1990s (just like the value of Beanie Babies – zing!). The post then goes on to note that “searching for ‘Doveland, Wisconsin’ on google only yields some old threads on /x/ where they’re just as confused as I am, but more mysteriously, two articles on missing people in Wisconsin.” Those articles are from the Appleton, Wis.-area newspaper the Post Crescent .

Doveland does not apparently appear on any map of Wisconsin (National Highways Association / Public Domain ) Similar to Werner, a town or unorganized settlement that was destroyed by damming. However, the cities that ‘disappeared’ in this way were well documented historically.
