About this deal

Each turn you either gain a card and put it on the Quartermaster, or take one of the cards you've already gained with that Quartermaster and put it into your hand.

July-December 2022, hosted by nasmith99: In each round of voting, people were presented with a random card and were asked to vote where in the partial list it should be inserted; the card was then inserted at the median vote. 2022 was a noteworthy year because it featured Allies , Plunder , multiple second editions, and errata that affected several cards in big ways (e.g. Merchant Guild and Port ). Events: Triumph Annex • Donate Advance Delve • Tax Banquet Ritual • Salt the Earth Wedding Windfall Conquest Dominate Ways: Butterfly • Camel • Chameleon • Frog • Goat • Horse • Mole • Monkey • Mouse • Mule • Otter • Owl • Ox • Pig • Rat • Seal • Sheep • Squirrel • Turtle • Worm Amphora , Doubloons , Endless Chalice , Figurehead , Hammer , Insignia , Jewels , Orb , Prize Goat , Puzzle Box , Sextant , Shield , Spell Scroll , Staff , Sword Hamlet Fortune Teller • Menagerie Farming Village • Horse Traders • Remake • Tournament ( Prizes: Bag of Gold • Diadem • Followers • Princess • Trusty Steed ) • Young Witch Harvest • Horn of Plenty • Hunting Party • Jester FairgroundsBut with over three million combinations, it’s inevitable that some are going to be better than others. Dominion remains a great game to this day and is one well worth a try. Fiona’s Final Thoughts Dominion®: Plunder is an expansion, and cannot be played by itself; to play with it, you need the Basic cards and rulebook (Dominion® provides both). Dominion®: Plunder can also be combined with any other Dominion® expansions you have. This is the 15th expansion to Dominion®. It has 500 cards, with 40 new Kingdom cards. It has lots of Treasures and Durations, with cards that give you Loot, and Traits that modify piles. Events return. Cantrip, your Treasures come with cheaper cards. There were several versions that tried to restrict it enough but not too much. It started in Allies in a split pile and sometimes was super fun. It was always broken or stupid though. Events: Delay • Desperation Gamble • Pursue • Ride • Toil Enhance • March • Transport Banish • Bargain • Invest • Seize the Day Commerce • Demand • Stampede Reap Enclave Alliance • Populate

Removed cards: Embargo • Pearl Diver Ambassador Navigator • Pirate Ship • Sea Hag Explorer • Ghost Ship Duration cards are not discarded in Clean-up if they have something left to do [on a future turn]; they stay in play until the Clean-up of the last turn that they do something. There are 16 cards in each split pile ( Augurs , Clashes , Forts , Odysseys , Townsfolk , Wizards ) with 4 of each individual card and 10 copies of each of the rest: The first edition of Intrigue was also a standalone game and came with its own set of Basic cards. Second Edition removed the Basic cards, and replaced six Kingdom cards with seven new ones. Barbarian , Capital City , Contract , Emissary , Galleria , Guildmaster , Highwayman , Hunter , Modify , Skirmisher , Specialist , SwapThe Loot pile isn't in the Supply; players can't buy or gain from it, except with cards that specifically gain Loot.

Plunder has Traits, which are a new kind of landscape card that affects a single Action or Treasure pile.

Several versions of a Knight that only killed Actions ("Assassin"). There may still be something there, but it starts out anti-fun. I had tons of cards. I took out a lot of cards, based mainly on what fit the set best; they are waiting around in case they get to be real boys someday. I ended up with two minor themes: choose ones and recursion. Late in the going I scrapped two split piles, which let me fit in three regular piles (which all ended up being cards from split piles), plus an ally. Removed cards: Duchess Oracle Noble Brigand • Nomad Camp • Silk Road Cache • Embassy • Ill-Gotten Gains • Mandarin Cards. May discard 3-4 cards with different costs to gain a Loot. At one point I was considering multiple new Smithies, and this one was a contender. You don't proc it much though.

Some Duration cards in Plunder do something the "next time" a certain thing happens. That thing could happen the same turn, or many turns later; these may sit in play turn after turn until finally the thing happens. For example you could play a Secluded Shrine and two Coppers , buy a Silver , and immediately trash two cards from your hand, discarding Secluded Shrine that turn. Or you could buy a Stowaway instead, and leave Secluded Shrine in play for next turn. When the pandemic hit, at first I just didn't work on games. I wrote some stories and novellas. Eventually my daughter Natalie started playing games with me. At the same time I typed up a few Dominion cards, in case external playtesters could somehow playtest them. One day in May I set up Dominion, which Natalie'd been resisting trying, and we played it and nothing bad happened. So after that, we played it a bunch. So I worked on an expansion! That's how they get you. At the start of your next turn, may play an Action, then draw to 6. I think LastFootnote suggested this. Buy phase, may play an Action from hand per copy of this you have in play. In the end Inspired was the surviving +Action thing.Traits are a set of landscape cards. When one is in play, it modifies a Kingdom Pile in some way or another as directed on the card. Sometimes it affects how much cards from the pile cost, and sometimes it is a bonus that takes effect when a card from that pile is bought.
