Electrical tape is easier than heat shrink and is virtually indistinguishable from more than a couple feet away. With 105 Di2 R7100 – arguably more so than the others, given it’s more likely to be fitted to bikes challenged with wintry conditions, thanks to its relatively lower cost – the need for grip and positive identification is heightened when long-fingered gloves and cold hands are in the mix. As you can see I have 3 cables in the way, the 4 way junction is in the down tube with two cables going to up the seat tube to the battery and front mech and one cable going down the chain stay to the rear mech.
