About this deal

If you’re living in a more tropical location, it’s better to go with strains that were collected from tropical regions of the world. All Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms will do well in heat, but the problem comes from the fact that mold also thrives in warmer climates with high humidity. APE, like other hallucinogenic mushroom species, is illegal to grow or possess in many places. “Possession” includes growing the mushrooms. And yet, in many jurisdictions, possessing the spores is perfectly legal because it is the hallucinogenic substances, not the fungus that produces them, that the law concerns itself with. The mushroom contains the prohibited substances, so the mushroom is just as illegal as a vial of liquid psilocybin would be. But the spores can’t make a person trip—they don’t contain any of the active ingredients, so the law doesn’t care (again, there are exceptions). That’s why it’s legal to sell, even advertise, growing kits that, if used as directed, will place the user in serious legal jeopardy. There are hundreds of Psilocybe cubensis strains, with Avery’s Albino being one of them. Although many of them look and feel completely different from each another, they all belong to the same species. Strains can produce several different traits but belong to the same species if they can successfully produce fertile offspring. Have questions? Keep reading and see if we answer them. 1. How Many Albino Strains of Psilocybe cubensis Exist? With that said, we’re pretty sure that Avery’s Albino comes from the Cambodian strain because it shares so many growth characteristics. With this in mind, Avery’s Albino could have multiple genetic relatives.

Hamill, Jonathan; Hallak, Jaime; Dursun, Serdar M.; Baker, Glen (August 6, 2021). "Ayahuasca: Psychological and Physiologic Effects, Pharmacology and Potential Uses in Addiction and Mental Illness". Current Neuropharmacology. 17 (2): 108–128. doi: 10.2174/1570159X16666180125095902. ISSN 1570-159X. PMC 6343205. PMID 29366418. There’s no real difference between an albino mushroom strain and a regular strain — they require the same growing conditions and produce more or less the same potency. APE Revert is not recommended for anyone new to mushroom cultivation because the strain isn’t particularly resistant to contamination and can be prone to aborts. However, the intermediate cultivator with a few grows under their belt and experience creating a sterile environment should be able to produce good results. This strain is an isolation of the Mexican Cubensis strain (one of the O.G. strains still available today).

There’s something special about a true albino strain. Leucistic strains are cool, but a shroom with no pigment at all is far more interesting. Data collected from the past 4 Psilocybin Cups, presented by Oakland Hyphae, demonstrated above-average potency of 1.12% psilocybin, 0.20% psilocin, and 1.36% total tryptamines. The strongest entry tested contained 1.85% total tryptamines. At a lower temperature, they will dry too slowly and interact with oxygen for too long. This increasing the potency loss. The higher temperature over 140°F or 60°C is not critical for potency loss, but mushrooms are easy to burn and spoil (this happens very often with newbie growers). It’s a good strain for the beginner wanting to grow ghostly-white shrooms without the hassle associated with true albino strains. 4. Albino Penis Envy (APE)

Once you’ve decided what strain you want to cultivate and buy the spores, they’ll arrive as either a spore print or spore syringe (sometimes called a liquid culture). Penis Envy is the original strain in the “PE series.” This is the mother strain to many of the most potent strains of P. cubensis on the planet. This strain is named after its penis-like appearance and is renowned for its unrivaled potency. Surprisingly, Penis Envy is relatively easy to cultivate. The name Mushroom John Allen appears a lot in this guide. He’s the original source for well over a dozen strains that are now considered staples in the mushroom cultivation scene. But some jurisdictions do have specific laws against possession of these spores, plus having a large amount of illegal material in the home for an extended period can be a serious risk. Plus, not everyone even wants large amounts of the same strain, no matter how good that strain may be. This one isn’t ideal for beginners; it’s best for cultivators with a bit of experience and some halfway-decent equipment. 4. Penis Envy (PE)
