About this deal
There were soft/sad undertones in this book which was added and I loved the depth it gave to both the characters š¤§ā¤ļøāš©¹ But August isn't interested in anything halfway. He's wanted Natalie since the moment he first saw her and he's determined to make it work beyond just an arrangement.
The spice actually got me feeling hot and bothered. One of my usual hangups about Tessa Bailey is the cringe dialogue during sexy moments. While there were some (see below), they were few and far between compared to the delicious, filthy things that came out of August's mouth. For example: Natalie on the other hand was a strong women who didnāt need no man. And thereās nothing I love more (as Iāve said before) than a women who doesnāt need a man, but can bring one to their knees!sometimes she looks sad, and I goad her into a fight just to get the kaleidoscope turning in her eyes again." the way this man will move mountains if it means seeing her smile- š„¹ Unfortunately Yours by Tessa Bailey, the second book in the āVine Messā duology came out in June, and I ran to read it. I enjoyed reading its predecessor Secretly Yours when it came out in February, and I was 100% ready to fall in love with Natalie Voss and August Cates (can we also talk about how rad these names are?). Overall, I loved Unfortunately Yours and 100% recommend reading! Itās one of my favorite marriage of convenience stories along with King of Wrath by Ana Huang. The intimate scenes when August and Natalie were together were insane! No matter how Natalie felt about August, she was putty in his hands behind closed doors. Tessa knows how to set the bar and rise above it in her books and the spice in this book did not disappoint. There were parts that were so intense, you kinda worried about Natalie a little bit (while envying her at the same time!)
As much as enjoyed āSecretly, Yoursā book one in the Vine Mess series, the follow-up Unfortunately Yours* just blew me away. Itās so much fun, the chemistry is off the charts, the spice is perfection, and Augustā¦ well, move over, Brendan; thereās a new favourite book boyfriend in town. Three woman who join together to rent a large space along the beach in Los Angeles for their storesāa gift shop, a bakery, and a bookstoreābecome fast friends as they each experience the highs, and lows, of love. Natalie can't get her trust fund without marrying.... and August doesn't ask questions when she asks him to be her husband. August is such a fantastic MMC! He's a burly ex-Navy SEAL - loyal, honest, caring, kind, and protective. He sunk all his money into making wine to honor his late best friend and fellow soldier since it was his dream *cue to waterworks*. He's just a huge teddy bear that could snap you in half. Oh he's also a cat dad *swoon*. But best of all, he's a BIG, FREAKING SIMP for the heroine, Natalie. He falls fast, hard, and is so far gone, she can do absolutely no wrong. All August wants is for Natalie to be happy and safe, and he will do everything in his power to make it so. Also, I still don't like Haille from Secretly Yours. She doesnāt play a big role, but she makes an appearance, but I found her character to still be annoying. At least it was consistent with Book 1.This book was so good! This was a fun and heartwarming romantic comedy about love, finding your purpose, and family. Unfortunately Yours follows Natalie who was recently fired from her job and needs money from her trust fund for her next business opportunity. But Natalie realizes that she must get married before the trust fund is released. Natalie decides to make a deal with August, he will marry her, but only if he is given a bank loan for his vineyard. Will Natalie and August develop feelings for each other or will they leave? I've been through Hell Week, injuries, training that nearly killed me, giving myself stitches without so much as an Advil. And none of it, Natalie is worse physical torture than being away from you." All of the sexy moments were HOT AF, and I ate that sh*t up! I now need my own husband to start calling me 'my wife.' August needs money so he doesn't lose his winery that he's created in memory of his best friend that died while they were Seals together.
Their communication about their feelings for each other was done so well ugh I wanna hug this book for giving me all these things I love. The small moments were amazing and I felt everything gahhh š¦š¦
I canāt wait to get my hands of a hard copy of this book so I can read again and tab the hell out of it! (Colour coded of course!) The leftover adrenaline, Natalie. I need to work some of it off first or . . .ā He pointed at the apex of her very smooth, very spreadable thighs. āIām going to offend the queen.ā
