About this deal

TLDR: If you want a cozy vampire book with a romance subplot that has: camping trips, a college setting, golden retriever boys, and a gorgeous display of a found family... then you'd love this. If you're looking for a super angsty vampire book, this is not the one for you. I love that there is no weird 100 year old vampire difference like in Twilight which is the main thing I dislike about Twilight! I love how pure their relationship is and it's not insta love, it starts as friendship and develops like it's the perfect pace! Both the main characters are so wonderful and just nice good people which I love. I enjoyed the dual POV because then I know I can trust both the characters and their intentions but that may be just my trust issues. I think the characters are written very well too, like they act the age they are described to be! I honestly loved it, it had me hooked, I loved the characters, I loved the strong friendships and family bonds! Honestly couldn't put it down. Both of the main characters are strong willed, defiant, and unyielding given their past experiences and traumas. The relationship that develops is a slow burn, full all of the enticing tension, genuine disdain, flirtatious teasing you could want…. And gods, it was absolutely delicious 🫦

The beauty of friendship is that it transforms into a blood connection of its own, forming a chosen family.” Remind me of your father’s name again,” he challenges, calling me on my lie from earlier. I don’t answer but hold his stare as he searches both my eyes. “I thought so.” True family is a constellation of kindred spirits, bound by empathy, understanding, and a shared sense of belonging.”

See a Problem?

Chelsea could have been cut from this book entirely and nothing would change. But we needed a petty sorority girl for our "not like other girls girl" to compare to and have a conflict with. I damn nearly saw my brain with how hard I rolled my eyes every time she was in a scene.

I also LOVE Zach, Luke, and Presley!! I love how strong their bond is, the fact that they are willing to do anything for each other. How SUPPORTIVE they are of Aaron and Kimberly!! And I love that Kimberly finally has a family that loves her unconditionally 🥹 He makes a spinning motion with two of his fingers, signaling for me to turn around. “You don’t have to watch. Unless you want to.” The second biggest problem with this was the dialogue. It was... not great. Everything was said so bluntly. Subltly and realism went straight out the window while this was being written. A perfect example of this is as follows. FMC is feigning interest in a guy so she can extract info from him. The first time she gets him alone, she immediately begins asking about the topic that she's extracting info about. Genuinely, she doesn't deviate from the topic ONCE during their date. And the guy isn't suspicious or put off by this at all. It was all very clunky and had no sense of subtlety or realism whatsoever. I don't mind a dual POV, but one of the chapters switched POVs in the middle with no warning and I was very confused. Good, then they'll know you're mine. Wren-what a pretty name. Let's see if you sing like one too."….PDF / EPUB File Name: The_Blood_That_Binds_Us_-_Erin_Mainord.pdf, The_Blood_That_Binds_Us_-_Erin_Mainord.epub Wren has never stolen a life, but that doesn’t stop her from believing her darkness makes her a walking nightmare. Harboring a power so lethal, unpredictable, and entirely forbidden by kingdom law, Wren’s spent her whole life hiding what she is—who she is. A bloodwitch.

These characters wouldn’t shut up, hah! I tease, but in all honesty, I carried these characters around in my head for many years before I decided I was actually going to sit down and write their story. I found myself thinking about them and seeing little glimpses of certain scenes when I would hear certain song lyrics, or be out hiking in the woods, and I was just constantly being compelled to get their voices out of my head and on paper. Wilbur walked so lost in thought he failed to hear the twin pair of footsteps fall in step with his own. Above him, a crow sat, watching. there had been more of this around as well recently. Family isn’t always about sharing the same last name; it’s about sharing a genuine connection and a piece of your heart.” This is my second book I've read of Tuli's and I will say it again, her prose is stunning. Her descriptions and use of imagery create beautiful images, and her cadence is effortless to read. The Bound by Blood series will be a trilogy. Book 2 is currently with my publisher, and I am almost halfway through the first draft of Book 3. I am so excited (impatiently so) to be able to share Book 2 with readers because the character arcs that are in store for these two… I adore the trajectory of their relationship, and love watching as they work through all the wonderfully horrible obstacles I am obligated to throw at them as their author. And that’s the only reason I haven’t killed you yet. Now unless you want to be plagued with filthy thoughts about me, witch, I suggest you turn around so I can dress. It’s your turn to bathe—you stink.” The plot had sort of a mystery thing going on, which could have worked except the author was transparent the entire time. Anyone with any semblance of critical thinking skills could have figured out who our villain was, and why he was targeting them. Blood may connect you biologically, but the threads of the family are woven by the moments you share.” Friends are the heartbeat of our chosen family, intertwining lives with a connection as strong as blood.” OH MY GOD is it bad. This book reads like a 2012 Wattled story that should have never even been up on that app. This story was so badly in need of an editor that I'm curious if it was written in the notes app - because some of these mistakes should have been fixed through Word or even having gramercy installed.
