Charles’ father Ted tells Charles that Charles is required to attend a company board meeting at the home of an important board member named David Schulman (played by Richard Lippert), who will be meeting Charles for the first time at this meeting. Instead of rescheduling the date with Elaine for another evening, Charles breaks his biggest rule about C2. He decides to send C2 to the board meeting instead, while Charles keeps his date with Elaine. What is Life?" Houghton, Rianne (June 22, 2021). "Divergent's Shailene Woodley replaces Emma Roberts in new comedy from Borat writer". Digital Spy. Archived from the original on March 9, 2023 . A short tale of a man encountering a strange pair of binoculars that lets him do some out-of-environment people-watching from the safety of his home. Not much substance to this story, but it's interesting enough. The Robot Who Looked Like Me contains thirteen stories, including the title story, originally published in Cosmopolitan (!) in August 1973. It’s not at all the kind of story I’d expect to find in Cosmopolitan, but maybe things were different in the early 70s. Very, very different. A Supplicant in Space: 5/5. A brilliant tale about interstellar travel and diplomacy! The strategies and arguments made by Detringer and the military general are well thought out and the ending is well written.

What is Life?: 5/5. A short, but fun and thought-provoking tale with an ironic ending. This is a must-read! During this wretched and very tedious misadventure, Charles and Elaine turn to the person who sold them C2 and E2 in the first place: a nerdy inventor named Zach (played by Paul Rust), who hastily says to Charles and Elaine that C2 and E2 are starting to take on more human qualities, such as falling in love and having complete freedom of choice. There’s no logical explanation given for why these robots have suddenly taken on more human qualities. Zach says that C2 and E2 have to be destroyed because C2 and E2 could expose Zach, Charles and Elaine for being involved in these illegal robot transactions. Silversmith Wishes: 4/5. A cautionary short tale that looks into what happens when one is allowed all the wishes one desires and what constitutes happiness. The ending is a bit odd though; I'm not sure I quite understand it. Their motivations are simple enough: instead of navigating the complex world of dating themselves, they send their computerized counterparts to do the dirty work for them. Genius! However, what they don’t anticipate is the two doppelgängers falling in love and announcing to their dismayed owners that they’re running away to get married. Serves them right…Zirn Left Unguarded, The Jenghik Palace in Flames, Jon Westerly Dead" ( Nova 2, 1972) A status report from a military outpost in space. The Neverending Western Movie: 4/5. What if John Wayne actually had to kill real people in his movies? How does he retire when the nature of the industry is to kill or be killed? That is essentially the premise of this interesting story. The ending is good as well, though perhaps a little predictable. Zirn Left Unguarded, the Jenghik Palace in Flames, Jon Westerley Dead: 2/5. A ridiculous title for a rather disappointing story. This space opera reads as if we're starting from the third act in a story, and the story then decides to give a plot synopsis of the previous act. The premise of the story is interesting enough, but the story is too short to really appreciate the interesting world/universe it tries to describe and build up. Culture Clash:A Lothario and a female gold digger, who each have illegal look-alike robots that do dirty deeds for them, go on a misadventure together to look for the robots after the robots “go rogue” by falling in love and running away together.
