About this deal

You’d think that being so slow can prove to be a danger in the wild, where speed is of the essence when escaping from a predator. But sloths are pretty smart and spend most of their time in trees, so they are safe and don’t need to waste energy running! What do you think? Isn’t it adorable? I love that she scurried away to her room and made these all by herself! Yay! Sloths live in trees, so it just makes sense that an amigurumi sloth would love to hang out in your Christmas tree. He sure looks cozy with his hat and his scarf! This adorable ornament is sure to make your Christmas tree stand out. The pattern is made in the traditional amigurumi style with just single crochet stitches. By then she was old enough to use the hot glue gun on her own (about 11yrs?), but you CAN make this using ordinary glue – you just need to wait for ito dry a bit. I think it is the most adorable bookmark ever. And 2yrs later I still have it.

Our Animal Adaptations Teaching Wiki is also great for explaining how sloths have adapted to their rainforest surroundings. Usually when people think of sloths they are envisioning the three toed sloth with the classic mask on the eyes and flat face. This realistic and fluffy sloth design is modeled after the Hoffmann’s Two-Toed Sloth (named after the German naturalist Karl Hoffmann). It looks like it’s made with faux fur yarn, but it’s actually just acrylic yarn that has been brushed out. Sloths, sloths and more sloths! From printables to crafts, embroidery and sewing projects, these sloth crafts and DIY ideas are sure to make you smile! Most ami patterns will need these skills: magic ring (also called magic circle), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet stitch (sc) in the round (rnd), invisible decrease, and some basic sewing skills (most of the patterns will have you sew a few parts on).
