Beer Description: A spiced Flemish amber beer that has a very unusual glass. Pauwel Kwak is a Belgian beer brewed by Bosteels in Buggenhout. Kwak is an amber beer, which is relatively strong at 8.4% ABV. It gets its name from an 18th century innkeeper and brewer. Overall, pretty good. Not an everyday sort of thing , but one I'd gladly have again , occasionally. The creators of Kwak beer have not shied away from adding a hint of something different. While some focus on a sweet caramel aroma, others have been infused with banana to give an extra something.

He also has had a coaching inn on the road between Mechelen and Gent, where the mail coaches used to stop for a break.That’s when Pauwel, whose inn, the De Hoorn, was located in a strategic area between Mechelen and Gent, came up with the idea of designing a glass -the koetsiersglas – that could be fitted in the carriage’s structure.
