About this deal

Part of the phone's Flexion Hinge is an equally flamboyant-sounding element called the Reticular Matrix Plate. When the phone is closed, the plate slides out of the way to allow the display itself to bunch up inside in a waterdrop shape – similar to the Motorola Razr 2022's folding design. It's a similar story with charging speeds, too, with the Samsung, Motorola and Huawei supporting 25W, 30W and 40W wired charging, respectively. The Find N2 Flip, meanwhile, tops the list at 44W (although you'll find a 67W SuperVOOC charger in-box).

Largest view refers to Find N2 Flip’s 3.26” cover screen. As of February 2023, the 3.26” cover screen is the largest among all vertical foldable smartphones. There’s also support for LTPO technology from 120Hz down to 1Hz in a bid to not only make everything feel more responsive in use but to improve battery life, allowing the phone to automatically drop the refresh rate when there isn’t much motion on screen. If you’re not using it too much, you’ll get closer to two days, but you’ll need to turn on the power-saving mode to stretch it that far. On test, with the phone at 80%, the handset estimated we would get one day and 12 hours by turning on the saver. There’s no water protection rating, so this isn’t a phone to use in heavy rain, and don’t even think about bringing it to the pool party this summer. We brought it to the gym and didn’t feel that it was overly fragile (something that can’t be said for the Samsung Fold 4) but this is more at risk of water damage than other flagships. Although MediaTek's high-end silicon isn't as established as Qualcomm's, the 9000 Plus has already proven its worth inside our best gaming phone of the moment – the Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate. As such, there's plenty of power on hand for everything from multitasking to gaming. As for the viewing experience, the 6.8-inch 20:9 Full HD+ panel's use of LTPO E6 AMOLED tech ensures sharp and vibrant visuals, with minimal brightness drop-off or color distortion when viewed off-axis, as well as support for a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz, for greater power efficiency than a fixed-refresh rate panel.

The display is plenty bright at a maximum of 1600 nits (when watching HDR content) though the plastic-y finish of the foldable display means that it’s a fingerprint magnet and this is really highlighted when using the phone in bright daylight. It’s easy to wipe, but it’s still an inconvenience. CamerasPros: a great large screen that folds in half, water-drop hinge decreases crease visibility, large cover screen, good battery life, dual-nano sim and esim, undercuts competitors on price. That essentially means that the crease is barely visible when looking at it straight on. Sure, there’s still a slight curvature when looking side-on but that’s not a dealbreaker for the person using the phone (only the nosey people around!). The dent in the display is also nearly non-existent. I can still feel it when I run my finger over it, but it’s merely a slight change in sensation rather than a notable dip.

The visibility of the crease varies by environment but, most of the time, you're unlikely to really notice it. (Image credit: Future | Alex Walker-Todd)

The Find N2 Flip's review period overlapped with Primate Labs' release of Geekbench 6, meaning I tested the phone's Dimensity 9000 Plus chipset with both Geekbench 5 (single-core scores of 891 or 1332 with high-performance mode and multi-core scores of 3164 or 4270 with high-performance mode on), as well as Geekbench 6 (single-core scores of 1110 or 1787 with high-performance mode and multi-core scores of 3224 or 4522 with high-performance mode on). The display manages a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. It's great for enjoying media (helped by minimal bezels) and offers one of the nicest viewing experiences of any clamshell foldable display currently out there. As you might expect, that translates to true all-day battery life split across the cover and main displays. I usually take it off charge at around 8am and I’ll use it throughout the day to send WhatsApp messages, take the occasional photo, stream videos on TikTok and listen to music on YouTube Music, before getting to bed at around midnight with 20-30% charge left most evenings.
