About this deal

JoeK: for list building, I’ve also looked only sparingly at the other factions, and have written up how I would build this army if I played them: The second best spell was +1 to run, hit and charge which has been nerfed to explicitly shaft Arrow Boys: Only 3 and not super exciting. Destroyer is probably going to be the goto if you’re not taking Amulet of Destiny already (You are). It adds 3 to damage characteristic of a weapon once per battle. Put it on a Mawcrusha’s Mighty Fists and Tail and really ruin someone’s day. Savage Boarboys are now only Battleline in Icebone, but they did stay flat at 140 points. Like all unit Musicians, theirs has been nerfed down to +1” to charge, but they do also get that 5+ save. Anyone who plays a decent army is probably scratching their heads right now at why we’re excited about a 5+ armour save, but that’s that #BonesplitterzLyf.

Today we touch on how to play Orruk Warclans Kruleboyz with some 2,000 point Army lists and break down the new battletome. This 43 piece plastic kit lets you build one Marshcrawla Sloggoth, complete with a howdah crewed by cruel and mischievous grots. There are a number of build options available, including two heads for the Sloggoth and a choice of catchin' nets and snatchin' stikks for two of the crew – perfect if you fancy running multiple versions of these loathsome beasts. The kit also comes with one 105mm x 70mm Oval Citadel base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel paints.

Kruleboyz Battle Traits

Lists probably start with a core of Shamans, some Boltboyz and some Gutrippaz (if for no other reason than you’re kinda pushed down that path by what’s available). From there, your options are to lean into a melee build with more Gutrippaz, a Mirebrute or two and a Sludgeraker, or go more controlling with more Boltboyz, some Killbows and Gobsprakk. I personally think you put a Sludgeraker in every list, but they’re about the same price as Gobsprakk which means taking both significantly cuts into your ability to field enough bodies to play the objectives. Hogg Euan – Ossiarch Bonereapers: OBR have enjoyed an unexpected renaissance, with the humble Mortek Crawler uniquely positioned to absolutely dunk on the mass bodies low bravery armies like the Gloomspite Gitz lists terrorising the metagame at the moment Oh and I haven’t even mentioned that you can recycle units through the Loon shrine to keep the value train rolling. Mathew Swinney – Stormcast Eternals – 2nd Place You could run the Rogue Idol I guess, although there’s not much point now; losing the access to the flying spell is the final nail in the coffin for the big fella. Vale, Pebbles. List Building When I look at the Ironjawz side of the book, there’s a lot to like; when I look at Kruleboyz, there’s a lot to get excited about. When I look at my beloved Bonesplitterz, I just feel sad.

There isn’t much hiding in this list, you are using your ranged units to decimate your opponent and force them to close with your army which has some beefy Mirebrute Troggoth’s. Then you use the unit of 20 Gutrippaz to either claim the center objectives or finish off any remaining forces that get too close to your ranged units. Skullbugz: A magic army with scarcely any bonuses to cast, a combat army with scarcely any rend, a monster-hunting army with scarcely any buffs against monsters. GW have managed to strip a whole lot of the fun and life out of this army, leaving behind just a husk of what it once was, and what it could be.

This deadly duo combines the cunning of a Kruleboyz boss with the primal strength of a Mirebrute Troggoth, the smellier cousin of the Dankhold Troggoth that the Gloomspite Gitz often coerce into battle. Let me know how you get on with Dobby the Marshcrawler Sloggoth and if there’s any secrets you’re prepared to share! Theme – Do you want your army to follow a particular theme? You can lean into a particular playstyle, such as going all-out on Boltboyz and Killbows or outnumber your enemy with multiple units of Hobgrots and Gutrippaz. While you should never let this hamper your army’s ability to get things done it can be beneficial to have one thing you do really well and just really lean into it. Well that’s a strange one… granted I’ve not really tried to write a Big Waaagh list yet because I’m having so much fun with Ironjawz – who can’t take ‘Dobby’– but also because it plays very differently to AOS2, in that I am reasonably certain it is much slower to build up the Waagh points. Keen students of the Savage Waaagh will notice that the fan-favourite Big Wurggog Mask has disappeared from the artefacts table. What’s neat is that your Wurggog Prophet now brings it along on his warscroll. How cool is that! It does make sense because, I mean, look at him…he is wearing the Mask.
