About this deal

I love this peppermint tea. Just don't steep it too long (5 minutes or even less), otherwise I find too strong of a flavor and slightly bitter. It feels clean and crisp, and pairs well with dark chocolate. I also like doing 1/2 peppermint, 1/2 chamomile. My 5 year old daughter says this tea is yummy! This tea is great after lunch, and aids in digestion. When you're ready to drink, bring one cup of water to 180 F. Use a loose-leaf tea steeper to steep 1 tablespoon of crushed leaves in hot water for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh peppermint leaves, lemon juice, honey or other add-ins of choice. We drink this tea year round, but it's especially nice in the evenings when you want to wind down from the day, or when you need a comforting warm-up from the cold, cold winter. Love it! Peppermint has antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. Because of this, peppermint tea may alleviate clogged sinuses due to infections, the common cold, and allergies ( 15).

Remember the bit about peppermint tea not being a true tea? ‘Real’ teas like English Breakfast and Earl Grey come from the Camellia Sinensis plant, which contains caffeine. The peppermint plant, however, is caffeine free! The peppermint tea benefits come from the essential oils that transfer into the hot water as it steeps. These healthy essential oils include menthol, menthone and limonene. And they do rather a lot of good… Mint is perhaps my favorite flavor of all time.
