About this deal

Perhaps you would post the two devices you are splitting the signal to, and blaming source rather than the near certainty it's the limitations of the destination kit. The user interface is easy to navigate, and the EPG can display data for channels of a certain type – such as HD – or those in one of five user-definable favourites lists. You can search for shows by entering keywords or see lists of upcoming broadcasts organised by genre. Freeview+HD functionality, including automatic series recording and, for some channels, recommendations for similar shows to record, is catered for.

I've just had one of these delivered today and there are no signal problems whatsoever – I can get both BBC and ITV from two different areas, although not the one that I would like for the local news. You can only re-sort channels by listing them alphabetically, but this isn't an issue for me, as my favourites list contains fewer than 30 channels and I can soon skip through them.

The hdmi splitter I have worked perfectly with my Humax HB1000S and a Humax HD Fox T2 together on both a Samsung tv, and (for experimental purposes) on a Panasonic tv. I have also used my Humax Foxsat HDR with this hdmi splitter without any issues. The HDR-2000T's twin tuners allow two channels to be recorded at once but a nice bonus is that you can also watch and timeshift a third channel at the same time. The timeshift buffer lasts up to two hours. I then went through the tedious task of watching Saturday morning TV via the TVs tuner waiting for the Humax to wake up. Bang on cue at 15 minutes before the programme was set to record a result. This time the TV did not go blank but instead there was momentary picture break-up, freezing and pixilation. If you want to send digital audio to a device that is likely to universally understand the codec used to compress the audio, you should use a proper AV receiver, not a TV. HDR-2000T is a Freeview+ box and has limited on demand services. It can however export recordings for use with other kit. (Even HD using a small programme by Raydon). It also has DLNA server and client, so you can remotely view SD recordings on other kit like smart phones and tablets. It can also replay content stored on other kit (like a PC). Additionally it has manual timers and autopadding. It does however appear to have HDMI handshake issues with some TV's.

None of the solutions worked and so I have ended up using a passive splitter (less than a couple of quid). The splitter appears to be much the better option. No degradation of TV signal and no more problems with switching. I can now also use the low power state to save extra pennies. The first was from Robert W, who sent an obviously scripted reply that has no relevance to the problem at all: We also press pause and play a few times – a fun game in itself – and are pleased with the sensitivity of this live TV control. I used mine with an HDMI splitter, and everytime you switched on the tv the audio on the 2000T had gone until the box was rebooted.Sound quality too, is as we’ve come to expect from this class-leading TV; switching to YouTube we play the video for Frightened Rabbit’s Get Out and enjoy as dynamic and expressive a performance as our telly speakers are capable. There are other examples on the web with the 2000T losing sound, even when using a single hdmi port, and as you don't even own a 2000T then to try and suggest it's the users who don't know what they are doing is just incredibly arrogant.
