About this deal

Weighing less than a kilo per pair, the Supalite II GTX won't slow you down and won’t compromise on performance, durability or comfort Bought these after having several cheaper pairs of (non Berghaus) fabric boots which didn't last, and failed to keep water out. I decided to buy the best I could afford and as these were in the sale, went ahead. They looked they would support my thin, wobbly ankles, as well as being lightweight (handy for travel by bus, train and plane as I don't drive). Additionally, as I often tend to get caked in mud living in Devon, I thought leather would be easier to clean. The polyurethane midsole is bonded on to the uppers and has a shank running the full length of the boot to give stability. The outsole has two different densities of rubber, with the outer edges, heel and toe made from a harder compound. The comfort and weatherproofing provided are commonly mentioned with users claiming they have been able to walk long distances and through water without any leaks or discomfort.

Berghaus have decided to give these boots outsole an upgrade by using a Vibram® outsole for enhanced grip and comfort. This sole remains lightweight yet very sturdy making these an excellent pair of boots for exploring and enjoying the trails in the great outdoors. This boot brings you the features you’ll need to take on all the weather and landscapes the UK can throw at you.

There’s good underfoot cushioning thanks to the dual-density EVA midsole. The heel box is stiffened and gives good protection. Toe protection is via a hard rubber and TPU rand in that area. The supple, top grade suede looks good but also keeps feet feeling fresh, while breathable mesh that’s woven through the outer gives a breath of fresh air when you need it.We evaluated how well they performed: how stable they kept the foot; how well they gripped in different situations; how well they protected the foot. As always, out of the box comfort is top of our list, and with the classic Explorer fit and cushioned OrthoLite® And let’s not forget the 100% waterproof GORE-TEX® lining that’s made to keep feet dry and comfortable on the soggiest hikes . Best suited to the Scottish munros and the mountains of the Lake District and Snowdonia, the Salewa boot will also cope with less technical routes, though it was the heaviest in the test, which is down to its solid construction and tough, stiff sole. Don’t be fooled by the name; this is a full-on mountain boot that will keep you stable on technical ground. This excellent all round walking boot is lightweight and comfortable, and the new design makes it even kinder on the eye.

What marks the Kisdon out from most of Alt-Berg’s other models is its G Fit last. The company’s main range of boots comes in a variety of widths, from extra narrow to extra wide. So if your foot happens to be this shape, rather than trying to squeeze into a narrower boot, the Kisdon could be a good bet. Help stop slips with excellent grip from the VIBRAM® rubber sole • Maximise grip on every step, with the new anti-mud-clogging system The Brasher SupaLite boots may not be so attractive when it comes to their looks but the materials and work that has gone into the design means they are appealing to anybody looking to take a long distance hike.

The leather used is durable given the right levels of post walk care, and although not as effective as a full rubber rand, the small toe bumper is well placed, protecting the very front of the boot from scuffs. Protection: Berghaus walking boots offer excellent protection for your feet. They often have reinforced toe caps and heel counters to safeguard against impacts and provide stability on uneven surfaces. The boots are also designed to provide ankle support, reducing the risk of twists and sprains.
