About this deal

So, first conclusion is that PJ made up the name. Second, there are 2 references to something that remotely resembles the stone. Note: Each Cubic Zirconia is claw set like a diamond in a ring. Cubic Zirconia is a man-made diamond. It will cut glass, but more importantly, it has a diamond's sparkle and internal fire . This gives the pendant the magical properties of a star shining brightly .....an Evenstar. The Evenstar appears in the Middle-earth movie trilogy, The Lord of the Rings. It is a beautiful white stone worn as a pendant by Arwen, a character in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Evenstar is a symbol of Arwen's love for Aragorn, a human warrior and the eventual king of Gondor. Due to the above this is a product I\'d not recommend to anyone as it will upset the owner of it the same way it did upset my partner as it was not her fault but the quality of the piece that caused it. For those of you who don't know, Elrond's father was Earendil was married to Elwing who was daughter of Beren and Luthien, a man and an elf, and Earendil was also half elven, because he was son of Tuor and Idril. This means all their ancestors could choose to be immortal like the elves, or mortal and have an extended life. Obviously Elrond chose to be immortal but his brother Elros chose to be mortal (and is one of Aragorn's ancestors which is why Aragorn is 87). Arwen gets to chose as well, so not all elves can chose to be mortal, only the ancestors of Earendil. Earendil had a silmaril and sailed west and kind of became a star (read the Silmarillion for a full history) which is why Galadriel talks about "... Earendil, our most beloved star..." .

In the 1981 BBC radio serialisation of The Lord of the Rings, Arwen is voiced by Sonia Fraser. [20] In the musical theatre adaptation of Lord of the Rings, Arwen, played in London in 2007 by Rosalie Craig, sings the Prologue, and three musical numbers: "The Song of Hope", "Star of Eärendil" (with the Elven chorus) and "The Song of Hope Duet" (with Aragorn). [21] [22] In the 2009 fan film The Hunt for Gollum, Arwen is played by Rita Ramnani. [23] [24] According to Tolkien's mythology, Arwen was the daughter of Elrond, the half-elven lord of Rivendell, and Celebrían, the daughter of Galadriel and Celeborn. Arwen's brothers were Elladan and Elrohir. She was also a distant relative of Lúthien, one of the greatest figures in Elven history. a b Enright, Nancy (2007). Yet maybe this will lighten your heart,' said Galadriel; 'for it was left in my care to be given you, should you pass through this land.' Then she lifted from her lap a great stone of a clear green, set in a silver brooch that was wrought in the likeness of an eagle with outspread wings; and as she held it up the gem flashed like the sun shining through the leaves of spring. 'This stone I gave to Celebrian my daughter, and she to hers [Arwen]; and now it comes to you as a token of hope. In this hour take the name that was foretold for you, Elessar, the Elfstone of the House of Elendil! The films portray Arwen as becoming human through her love for Aragorn; as in the novel, she follows the choice of her ancestor Lúthien to become a mortal woman for the love of a mortal man. [8] [5] The films introduce a jewelled pendant called the Evenstar which Arwen gives to Aragorn as a token of their love. A similar pendant appears in Marion Zimmer Bradley's short story The Jewel of Arwen, although in that story Arwen gives it to "the Ring-Bearer" rather than to Aragorn. [a] In Tolkien's novel, Arwen gives Frodo "a white gem like a star...hanging upon a silver chain" before he leaves Minas Tirith, saying, "When the memory of the fear and the darkness troubles you...this will bring you aid". [T 9]

Isn't The Silmarillion just AWESOME? anywho, Arwen's ability to decide on a 'mortal' fate instead of an 'immortal' fate roots simply from her heritage. The stone/star have nothing at all to do with it. In the film adaptation of The Two Towers, the injured Aragorn is revived by a dream or vision of Arwen, who kisses him and asks the Valar to protect him. [8] Arwen said: "Dark is the Shadow, and yet my heart rejoices; for you, Estel, shall be among the great whose valour will destroy it."The person who mentioned it as a gift to Frodo is right on the money. Someone read the book, great! In the book, it is described as "a white gem like a star that lay upon her breast hanging upon a silver chain". This is clearly the Evenstar pendant (Evenstar being what her people lovingly called her). But Aragorn answered: "Alas! I cannot foresee it, and how it may come to pass is hidden from me. Yet with your hope I will hope. And the Shadow I utterly reject. But neither, lady, is the Twilight for me; for I am mortal, and if you will cleave to me, Evenstar, then the Twilight you must also renounce."
