About this deal

I feel like untangling desire and sexuality from politics is a very messy process and that’s something Eve wrestles with throughout the novel. How Meghan and Kate 'cosplayed' as Princess Diana - as Omid Scobie claims they were 'urged to dress like mother-in-law so her shine would rub off Eva Longoria shares a video of her dancing to Dolly Parton's Islands in the Stream with Kerry Washington... and snaps of her with Camila Cabello I'm A Celeb's Nella Rose and Josie Gibson in sexism row as they praise campmates for being 'real men' - but viewers criticise 'double standards'

Ad Feature Glittering costumes, impressive special effects and BELTING musical numbers: Disney's Frozen the Musical is...LF: This is such an interesting question and has been at the forefront of many conversations about the book. To me, Acts is very much a love story – and what Eve and Nathan feel for each other is absolutely love. What is more romantic than being surprised by your attraction to someone, surprised by the quality of their interest in you, feeling incapable of refusing it, coming to see yourself in their eyes, and learning to see both them and yourself in a far deeper light? It’s true that Eve doesn’t develop solid or committed relationships with either Nathan or Olivia. And many readers have been discomfited by the way Eve uses love to describe her feelings for Nathan – perhaps because she’s skeptical of him, because their relationship begins as physical, or because it’s hard to see the two of them ending up together. And those elements are all true – but what do they have to do with love? For me, one of the most important subjects in Acts of Service is the variety and complexity of love. I was thinking of this when I walked through Bed-Stuy to meet Olivia for the first time – the question of how I would know. Was it simply irrelevant, since we had expressed blunt interest in each other online? There had to be a physical exchange, a look of some kind to reassure us both that our tentative interest remained intact. It had been a couple of years since I had entertained a new flirtation. I didn’t mean to insult you, not at all, Olivia said. You’re very beautiful. All I mean is that I don’t know what I’m interested in – it’s all changed – I’m in a strange period of my life, she said suddenly, earnestly. Isadora Wing from Fear of Flying and Eve Babitz’s narratorial self. Those voices feel like strong thematic parallels because they’re so fearless about their own pursuits, even at other people’s expense. But those are very funny, lighthearted books and essays, and Eve, the character, is much more serious, much more angst-ridden and neurotic. I have to say I don’t think she’s like me at all. I think that I’m much more fearful and cautious as a person, and I think something that was fun about Acts of Service was letting Eve take after Nathan as much as she wants to. And she can’t fully. I think the best parts of the novel are where she overcomes her own apprehensions and her own cowardice. Danny Cipriani takes a cryptic swipe at wife Victoria just days after she was left 'devastated' seeing cosy pictures of him with his Strictly partner Jowita Przystal

Chris Brown denies he is antisemitic in any 'way, shape or form' after being criticized for dancing to new single Vultures with Kanye West in Dubai BB: Eve’s quest to understand the connection between love and desire remains relatively dispassionate in Acts, since no romance develops between her and her two lovers, Nathan and Olivia. Was it intentional that this wouldn’t become a love story?During one racy scene, Nathan turns up at Eve's work and commands her to strip off in the cafe toilet. Married at First Sight UK's Peggy Rose and GeorgesBerthonneau confirm they ARE still together after fans feared they'd split following reunion

Post Malone embraces his animal instincts as he greets fans in yet another pyjama set from his collection at Gold Coast Airport Omid Scobie accusesPrince Edward and Sophie of 'a royal screw up' - and claims their remarks in the wake of Harry and Meghan's Oprah interview made them seem 'casually bigoted'Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour movie is coming to streamers on a VERY special day next month - and includes THREE new songs Omid Scobie takes aim at Kate in first bombshells: Biographer claims late Queen liked that 'Katie Keen' she was 'coachable' unlike Diana King Charles and Prince William are 'allowing selfish agendas and family discord to take over the House of Windsor'

As the novel unfolds, Eve explores the complicated dynamic of their polyamorous relationship and her role within it. Suffering sleepless nights? Tossing and turning? Find your slumber solutions with MyPillow, the most comfortable pillow you'll ever own... GUARANTEED!Beyonce reveals daughter Blue Ivy 'trained even harder' to perform on her Renaissance tour after reading negative social media comments about her dancing I had hundreds of nudes stored in my phone, but I'd never sent them to anyone,' reads the opening line to the raunchiest book of the summer. When working on the book, Fishman lived in a 'small room' in a three-bed apartment, and would write her novel on her laptop at night while in bed or in the NYU library. Around bisexuality and queerness in my life, and in the way we talk about it as a culture, there’s this framing of sexuality and romance as beyond gender. There are lots of taboo and discomfort around bisexuality because it’s so based on traditional binary concepts of gender. Eve’s attraction and her interest in this experience is based in a very conventional framework. That’s what bothers her about it, and what drives the thematic meat of the novel. All of the of positive conversation I’ve encountered around bisexuality is like, You love who you love! as though gender is sort of subsumed by attraction to a person, and the book I was trying to write was about how sometimes that doesn’t happen, and in fact, that structure that disturbs you is the thing that attracts you.
