This book is full of slut shaming, stupid teenagers, love at first sight and your classic and most hatred trope of YA books, the you are not like the others trope, yes, for real. Because this books was released on 2019 I immediately thought this is going to be good and mature and it definitely won't have slut shaming, right? because as a society we are so over it, right? right? *awkward silence*

This book appears to be a standalone; however, fans of The Kiss Thief will enjoy Wolfe Keaton’s brief cameo. Ivy Hawthorn has always known she was different. Things take a bizarre turn with the arrival of Barrett Forbes, a mysterious transfer student who always seems to be in the right place at the right time when her life is threatened. Yor is shown to be insecure about herself and her abilities, believing she is not good at anything apart from killing or cleaning, and she constantly worries that she's not being a good wife or mother. After the interview at Eden Academy, she tries to be more of a normal mother to Anya by trying to cook and asking Camilla for cooking lessons. After Hallie lands in hot water with the tabloids again, her father issues an ultimatum: be cut off from the family fortune or agree to a live-in bodyguard.

Spy x Family is looking to become one of the greatest anime series of all time, and a good part of what makes both the manga and the anime so good is the fact that it has unique characters. Yor Forger is one of the three central characters of Spy x Family and is secretly an assassin called Thorn Princess working for Ostania. But why is Yor Forger called Thorn Princess in Spy x Family? The arch of suspense. Since Ivy's family mystery and the romance are the prime variables for the arch of suspense, it can only be described as mediocre. The first one is splendid, it's obvious from the beginning that there's some dark family secret to be revealed. I couldn't wait for it to happen. The romance, however, my goddess, was so stereotypical sometimes. In those moments, it was barely endurable. But I made it through and was rewarded with a decent listening experience. From the first 20% of the next book I can assure you, it's getting better. Lots of teenage angst, my favourite angst. Poor intellect: Despite being a dangerous and well-trained assassin, Yor is demonstrated to have very poor academic intelligence and social skills, often times zoning out whenever she's in a situation that requires thinking (such as helping her daughter with schoolwork). This was likely caused to her sheltered youth in poverty, where she couldn't afford to go to a school herself. This also causes her to demonstrate her immense prowess in unwilling situations.Hallie and Ransom are absolutely refreshing! I was completely immersed in everything and everything that was these two. During the original sketches, many outfits were created for Yor, from her civilian clothes to her assassin outfit. One such outfit shows Yor dressed like a nurse and another appears similar to Eden Academy's uniform, sharing its gold accents. This ending for Hallie was everything. Her standing on her own two feet without her family .telling each and every one of them the ugly truth was courageous. When no one actually expects anything of you, why would you expect anything of yourself? L.J. Shen has brought forth a rollercoaster of a story of hidden truths and unfair assumptions. Delving into Hallie and Ransom’s story had all my emotions in a bind. Watching Hallie become the woman she truly is was like watching the most beautiful flower bloom all the while, Ransoms frosty exterior and emotionless state gets chipped away like an ice sculpture we’re all dying to look upon. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this book. LJ Shen has written another masterpiece to add to my shelf! Weapons: When in combat, Yor uses two golden stiletto-type weapons. They have a handle with a thin, circular loop at the butt and a long, conical point designed for stabbing and thrusting. She has yet to be seen using them outside of her assassin work. Yor uses them to stab into an opponent's head or arteries, though she has demonstrated the ability to throw them with great speed and force. These weapons are a reference to the thorns of a wild rose. [20] If needed, she can use her earrings as a projectile. [21]

Other notable roles for the 30-year-old include performances in The Irregular at Magic High, I’m Standing on a Million Lives, 86, Welcome to Demon School, DanMachi, Jujutsu Kaisen and Fire Force amongst many others. While there are dark elements and themes to Thorne Princess, I thoroughly enjoyed the banter, wit, humour, and verbal sparring of the two main characters in this excellent enemies-to-lovers story with a difference. Self confessed An exiled Eve. A weird, mixed-breed creature. Social media influencing is just about all her qualifications. Pouting, posing, posting her daily schedule. All in all an entitled online party girl whose Nip-Slip sends her world in a tizzy on her bad day. Ransom is not your typical damaged MMC. He was very self aware,and unapologetically himself. I liked him immensely,flaws and all. Barrett Forbes’s transfer to Ivy’s school is questionable and mysterious, but a welcoming surprise to all. But he isn’t all he seems to be. An Irish accent and an uncanny ability to be where Ivy is when she needs help leaves the reader questioning who and what he really is. Bear was sent to find Ivy and bring her home to the Winter Court where her true mother, the winter queen, waits.Ransom was damaged by his past and he was dark, cold and unfeeling. He was broody and bossy and wanted control in all circumstances. Hallie reached a part of him that he thought didn’t exist. She softened him and made him long for things that he never though he wanted. This book is PERFECT, the author did an amazing job with the forced proximity/bodyguard/enemies to lovers tropes an explosive combination that enraptured me' 5***** READER REVIEW I sound a bit muddled by what I loved because its kind of what I didn't like. I loved that this book didn't walk the line of a true HEA in the beginning. I love the realistic aspect of we don't know right away. He didn't know right away his allurement to her. I liked how she stood up for herself and didn't let him lead her down a path she was unsure of at the time. She found her way on her terms. I loved this audiobook. I found myself emotionally invested and absorbed from the beginning through to the end.
