About this deal

Research-wise I used movies, documentation, I read up on as much as I could. Obviously, you don't have access to any videos or recordings because they didn't exist. What I like, is you can look at pictures and it's a snapshot but you don't know what happened before or after. So it's already the beginning of the creative work of the actor, to imagine. The writers clearly knew this was a mess because the sixth (and final) episode includes two scenes where minor characters explain exactly what has happened in simple language. And the ridiculous thing is, half of the characters and locations mentioned in the exposition had barely been included in the previous 5 episodes.

President Félix Faure has just handed over the weapon to the left, tensions between anarchist groups and anti-Semitic and nationalist leagues have never been so strong. But that would not have disoriented a spectator of 1900 because the press of the time loved to enter into macabre details".

Episodes

But there are no major improbabilities ”, judge Arnaud-Dominique Houte, professor at the Sorbonne and police specialist in the 19th century *. As for these two episodes, everything hinged on Jouin (recently released from prison, thanks to Commissaire Cochefort, who, happily for me, played a prominent role in these two final episodes) and Fiersi’s infiltration of Château Bagatelle. The ensuing scene – where Guichard confessed and explained all – ended with the aforementioned and the Coachman losing their lives in the most brutal ways imgainable.

The series airs on the channel Canal+ in France, and we'll keep you updated once we have more information. Paris Police 1905 plot At the Sûreté, everyone is working to resolve the Berger affair; the police need to prove their effectiveness. A few days before the opening of the Dreyfus trial, tension is mounting in the streets of Paris. Lépine foils to his advantage the trap of personal scandal set for his wife. Some scenes in “Paris Police 1900” are shot from no perceptible character point of view, or straight into window or door light, silhouetting the characters, comic book style. How much of a graphic novel sensibility carries over into the series? During this period, the newspapers “developed like never before”, observes for his part the historian of the police force Jean-Marc Berlière **.There is only one police force worthy of the name in France, it is the Parisian police", assures Jean-Marc Berlière. This is where the modern police was born", explains the professor emeritus at the University of Burgundy. Jérémie Laheurte [ fr]: Antoine Jouin, inspired by (or precursor of) Louis-François Jouin, policeman killed by Jules Bonnot in 1912. [4] The real important figure is the deputy Edouard Drumont who theorized a hyperradical anti-Semitism, intensified by the Dreyfus affair, ”notes Arnaud-Dominique Houte.
