About this deal

I would definitely recommend this cup to friends and family and have already done so. The little design is great and my daughter seems to like it. I use this as her water cup and it works so well! Build confidence: if your little one wants to grab the cup for themselves, let them try with your assistance. It's a great way to inspire confidence and independence.

Yes, I certainly would recommend this to a friend and family as the design of the bottle made it easy for my son to drink, without any risk of choking. What is great is that you can turn the bottle upside down and no liquid leaks out, this makes mealtimes much less messy! The bottle is also very easy to clean. degree design – Rather than having a spout or one opening, a sippy cup with this design can be sipped from any angle around the edge. This also makes it easier to move your child onto a beaker or cup. This product makes my life easier as my daughter can now feed herself using this little cup, which then frees me up to do all the other jobs I’ve got to do. Even though this cup looks different from her milk bottles, she took to it straight away which is testament to the quality of the product! The design is really cute and the handles are the perfect size. The classic cup has been a favourite with parents for years and it can be found in most supermarkets. There are cheaper cups, but we think it’s excellent value for money as a solid, well-made model from a trusted premium brand. With a low-ish price tag, you can buy a few (one for at Grandma’s, one for under the pushchair…) without breaking the bank. Trying to reduce your plastics? You’ll love Klean Kanteen’s stainless steel water bottles for kids as it’s a bottle for life, which reduces wastage. The Classic Sippy comes with a spill-proof sippy cap and dust cover for little ones, but it’s also compatible with Klean Kanteen's bamboo, sports and loop mouth pieces so it can grow with your child. The bottle itself is virtually bomb-proof - it doesn’t scratch or dent, so it'll survive as time goes by. Just don’t lose it (eek!).Looking for something that will keep your DC’s drinks cool? Insulated cups can help and we like the look of this one, as Munchkin is generally a loved brand by parents - including Mumsnetters. It keeps drinks cool for up to 10 hours in the insulated, double-walled stainless steel cup. I would recommend this bottle as I loved the colourful design and the shape of the bottle. It easily fits in changing bags and doesn’t leak, provided the lid is fitted correctly. It holds a large amount of liquid which is great if out for the day! The product is very easy to clean and easy to store while at home. Otherwise, look for cups that are easy to use (as this is all about giving them independence so think handles, easy-grip and easy drinking design); leak-free and spill-free (especially important for outings); easy to clean; robust; and with no harmful chemicals (such as BPA-free). How to help your baby learn to drink from a cup Pricey but can replace the spout if needed, rather than the whole thing (just don't lose it, kids!)

Get a Doidy Cup! They're brilliant, good size for little hands and angled so they can see the water coming at them. My toddler had one from 6 months and she much preferred it to a sippy cup. Takes a little while (and a lot of spills) to get used to but definitely worth it’ - highly recommended by Mumsnet user, HereComesFrog. Our Verdict Step 1 enables your baby to drink from a fast flow bottle teat in their new trendy cup like bottle with handles, for the earliest transition to weaning. Step 2 offers the use of the cleverly designed symmetrical Extra soft spout with spill free, free flow technology, for the second stage of weaning. Here at Mumsnet we're obsessed with making parent's lives easier, and we know much of a difference the right product can make when it comes to feeding and changing during the baby and toddler years. That's why we've done the leg work for you, by vetting and collating Mumsnetters' top recommendations for everything from the best breast pump to the best changing bags.

14. Best sippy cup for a 1-year-old: NUK Kiddy Cup Night Toddler Cup

I would like there to be more colour options for the beaker as I have three children who fight over whose is whose. Maybe the beaker could have a bigger handle as my son had trouble getting his fingers through the handles. Tested by mum Samantha Kirby for the Mother & Baby awards 2018: Go slowly: it's a strange sensation to go from breast or bottle to a sippy cup, so naturally, it will take time and practice before your child is confident. Go slowly and help them get used to the cup, and with time it'll become a natural technique eventually.

When the teat is bitten, all the liquid pours out, which makes my baby splutter. I imagine this is a common problem as babies begin to latch. This could maybe be considered in the future when MAM design teats for future bottles. Tested by mum Caitlin Kelly for the Mother & Baby awards 2018: If I could change one thing about this product, I would make it a little cheaper and change the handle to make it a little bigger for baby to grip. Otherwise it’s great! Tested by mum Georgina Leggett for the Mother & Baby awards 2018: The Tum Tum weighted sippy cup is really good. DD is one year old and can drink from it great. She usually drinks two cups of water a day whereas before she was barely drinking any’ - tried and tested by Mumsnet user, TeacakeTotty. Our Verdict I would improve this product by reducing the teat size. I think for a baby transitioning from a bottle to a teat, this size is slightly too large. Maybe different size teats could be created to allow the baby to slowly transition to the larger one. Tested by mum Amy Knight for the Mother & Baby awards 2018: Another vote for the Tommy Tippee Free-Flow. My son drinks water out of this and gets all excited when he sees the cup” - voted for by Mumsnet user, SabrinaTheThirtySomethingWitch. Our VerdictOther features of sippy cups include the handles, which are sometimes removable, 360-designed lids which mean they can be sipped from any angle and your child's sippy cup should always be BPA-free to avoid toxins. You may also be able to find the perfect sippy cup as part of your baby's weaning set so everything matches and is familiar to baby. Variety is key: swap your sippy cup out for a normal cup too, to grow your little one's experiences with both types of cup. This will make the transition to a free-flow cup easier.
