About this deal

Now, here’s the question. A n all-dragon Stormcast Eternals army is one thing, but how much does it cost to build one? It’s a little like a Sons of Behemat army: very few models but each model is pretty frigging expensive. Then came the announcement five months ago about the new dragon models that were going to be coming down the pipeline. Krondys, Son of Dracothion, the massive dragon who was the mage, and Karazai the Scarred who was the brutal fighter. They were proper looking dragons. The dragons that we had always wanted to see from Age of Sigmar. Finding himself without an invite to Sigmar’s party, Karazai has been scouring Ghur, seeking vengeance for his scrambled kin and wreaking havoc on the forces of Destruction. When a dragon spends too long in the Realm of Beasts, though, a little of that realm may also find its way into the dragon, and thus it is that Karazai has become a bitter and violent creature – all but consumed with wrath and revenge. But doesn’t he strike a pose? Well, the current thought (which hasn’t been thoroughly tested through tournament play) is that t he best thing you can do is take a Knight Draconis and spam a whole bunch of Stormdrake Guard, and I honestly have a hard time finding fault with that. It uses the new models, it ignores the old models, and it appears to be very competitive. Personally, I would go this way: SUMMONING : This endless spell is summoned with a spell that has a casting value of 5 and a range of 3". WIZARDS that have a Wounds characteristic of 8 or more, that are Unique, that are part of a unit that has 2 or more models, or that are already on a Dais Arcanum cannot attempt to cast this spell. If successfully cast, set up the endless spell within range and visible to the caster, more than 3" from all terrain features and enemy models, and more than 1" from all other models, endless spells and invocations. Then place the caster on top of the endless spell. Only STORMCAST ETERNALS WIZARDS can attempt to summon this endless spell.

Drakesworn Templar • Knight-Arcanum • Knight-Azyros • Knight-Draconis • Knight-Heraldor • Knight-Incantor • Knight-Judicator • Knight-Relictor • Knight-Venator • Knight-Vexillor • Lord-Aquilor • Lord-Arcanum • Lord-Castellant • Lord-Celestant • Lord-Exorcist • Lord-Imperatant • Lord-Ordinator • Lord-Relictor • Lord-Veritant • Praetor

Leader

I love mages, but it was a no-brainer for me to build Karazai with my first Stormcast Eternals dragon model. Knight Draconis and the Stormdrake Guard There have been a lot of dragons in Warhammer Fantasy and some of them have been better than others. I admit that I like a lot of the classic Warhammer Fantasy Battles dragons a lot more than the dragons that have made their way into Age of Sigmar, and that absolutely includes Lord=Celestant on Stormdrake. This is a model that I could 100% do without. It is everything about Stormcast Eternals that I dislike: massive, immovable, looking more like it’s carved out of stone than that it’s an actual creature. Krondys, Son of Dracothion On the tabletop, the Draconith tower over the battlefield. Given their size and the huge amount of detail to work with, Krondys and Karazai will serve as extraordinary centrepieces for an army, and as fantastic painting projects in their own right. And have no doubt the return of such powerful figures will have massive, far-reaching effects in the Mortal Realms, especially for the Stormcast Eternals, who benefit from Sigmar’s pact with Dracothian. Krondys is armed with natural weapons of the Draconith such as an annihilating jaw, massive ruinous talons, and a calamitous tail. Being among the greatest Draconith lords he can unleash a blazing tempest, vortexes of scouring flame that disintegrate those caught in the blast. [2d] Unlike his brother Karazai no longer casts spells, having given up sorcery in favour of sheer violence. [2c] Quotes Do not speak to me of dead empires or ancient dreams now shattered and cold. Spare me your prattle regarding hope and reconstruction. All I ask is that I be shown those who deserve to be torn asunder or burnt to ash. Do that, and I will fight your wars for you, Man-God.

On his chest, below his armour, Krondys is marked with the twin-tailed comet – a sigil which represents the alliance between Sigmar and Draconith. Filled with sadness and shame at the fall of the ancient Draconith Empires to which he is heir, it is Krondys’ great hope that, in alliance with the Stormcast Eternals, his kin might once more rise to greatness. Karazai the Scarred Krondys is armed with natural weapons such as an apex maw, massive drake-lord's talons and a calamitous tail. Being among the greatest Draconith lords he can unleash a blazing tempest, vortexes of scouring flame that disintegrate those caught in the blast. [2d] The Stormdrake Guard box allows you to build a Knight-Draconis and Stormdrake Guard, or a unit of two Stormdrake Guard. These units are pretty insane on the tabletop and are probably going to have a large impact on the competitive meta. Games Workshop has even gone so far as to increase their points after some balance testing prior to their release because of their expected impact. However, upon Kragnos' escape during the Era of the Beast, he abandoned his exile. He called for the Seraphon to release the Draconith raised in their vessels and reunited with Karazai. Together, the brothers led a host of Draconith so vast it darkened Mallus' glow. The paie presented themselves before Sigmar, and after a week-long council mediated by Stardrakes, they swore the Pact Draconis for the union of Stormcast and Draconith, resulting in the formation of the first Stormdrake Guard. [2b] [2c]

Endless Spell

He considers his brother a senile fool that retreated in shame and only fights alongside him to outmatch him. He also prefers to join the eve of battle rather than lead the armies of Azyr and while he is not turned away many Stardrakes and Dracoths find themselves uneasy in his presence. However many younger Draconith have begun to admire him as living proof of the fact that not all of their forefathers gave up the fight, finally giving Karazai the respect he desired for many millennia. [2c] Wargear and Abilities To build the list above I would need one Karazai kit and four Stormdrake Kits. Paying full Games Workshop prices, you can get them for: Farstriders ( Almeric Eagle-Eye • Elias Swiftblade • Sanson Farstrider) • Ironsoul's Condemnors ( Brodus Blightbane • Gwynne Ironsoul • Tavian of Sarnassus) • Steelheart's Champions ( Angharad Brightshield • Obryn • Severin Steelheart) • Storm of Celestus ( Aphus • Drakan Celestus • Mellisan Star-Sighted • Sleek) • Stormsire's Cursebreakers ( Ammis Dawnguard • Averon Stormsire • Rastus) • Xandire's Truthseekers ( Calthia Xandire • Dhoraz Giant-Fell • Luxa Stormrider • Taros) We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. Stormcast Eternals: All-Dragon Army Anvil of Apotheosis • Chamber Serf • Lord-Commanders • Reforging • Redeemed • Sigmarite • Stormhosts ( Chambers • Conclaves • Retinues) • Transfigured

Whiles his old failures continue to gnaw at him, Krondys has decided to stand once more as a king, considering himself an ally of Sigmar and leading both Stormcast and Draconith into battle. [2c] Wargear and Abilities During the Era of the Beast Karazai joined Krondys in leading a massive host of Draconith that darkened the glow of Mallus and after weeks of long negotiations mediated by Stardrakes swore the Pact Draconis as it aids his own bloody crusade. [2b] [2c] In addition, he is a powerful spellcaster and his powers are further empowered by the Regalia Fulmentarus. Krondys directed the forging of the arcane mantle using smithing arts known only to the Draconith and in addition to being a symbol of the alliance of Draconith and Stormcast it enhances his ability to direct the storms of Azyr. He can cast powerful spells such as the Atavistic Tempest which combines the magic of Azyr with the lost magic of the Draconith to unleash a barrage of elemental storms that at one moment sends blinding gales or lightning vortexes only to be followed by a hail the size of meteors or snowstorms that chill to the bone. How Much Does it Cost to Build a Stormcast Eternals All-Dragon Army?

Arkas Warbeast • Astreia Solbright • Aventis Firestrike • Balthas Arum • Cerrus Sentanus • Gardus Steel Soul • Gavriel Sureheart • Imperius ( Loxia) • Ionus Cryptborn • Jactos Goldenmane • Lynus Ghalmorian • Orius Adamantine • Ramus of the Shadowed Soul • Sylas Beastbane • Tarsus Bull-Heart • Thostos Bladestorm • Tyberain Vost • Vandus Hammerhand ( Calanax) • Victrian Cyrocco • Vorrus Starstrike • Zephacleas • Zenius the Dirge • Zeraphina Heldensdotter Of course, Krondys and Karazai are not the only dragons new to the Stormcast Eternals. There’s also the Stormdrake Guard, a kit that comes with two dragons, one of which can be built as the Knight Draconis.

For rules purposes, the caster and this endless spell are treated as a single model in the caster’s army that uses the caster’s warscroll as well as the endless spell rules ( core rules, 19.3). A WIZARD on a Dais Arcanum has a Move characteristic of 12" and can fly. The Stormdrake Guard are excellent Battleline because they can not only fly, but they can s et up further apart from each other, allowing them to control the table well. They’re cheaper, but they have one big bonus: at 9 wounds, they can hide behind terrain. Stormcast Eternals: All-Dragon Army Blooded Dawn • Celestial Knights • Celestial Warbringers • Crimson Seraphs • Fists of Sigmarite • Ghyran Guard • Knights Excelsior • Knights of Azyr • Knights of the Aurora • Lightning Hawks • Maelstrom of Light • Radiant Suns of Sigmar • Silent Host • Sons of Mallus • Sons of the Storm • Tempest Lords

When the Stormcast Eternals marched off to reclaim the realms, Krondys decided to become a guardian hermit-drake watching over the younger races and protecting the outer wilds of Azyr from the horrors that lurk there. In some instances, the drake even travelled to other realms. [2c] But Krondys, Son of Dracothion, and Karazai the Scarred are dragons that I can get behind completely. Krondys looks regal, like a leader, like the mage that he is. He wears armor, but not armor that will protect him from anything–it’s armor that looks like it’s ceremonial, and that’s very fitting of Krondys. Well, anything in this article has piqued your interest– you love dragons, you love the rules, you love big elite armies–then the answer might very well be yes. It’s really not as expensive as you’d think. In fact, I think that an all-dragon army might be a great starter army for someone just getting into Age of Sigmar. A lot of people find that painting large creatures is more forgiving than painting lots of individual soldiers, and even if you struggle with the painting, this army only has you painting eight models and then you’re 100% good to go, ready to play. So let’s say that you want to play a Stormcast Eternals all-dragon army list, and let’s say that you’re like me and you like the new models a lot better than the old models. What should you do? He’s got a massive 18 wounds, a 14″ move, 3+ Save, and can breath fire (Blazing Tempest) up to 18″ away. He’s a brute. Is he worth the 600 points? Honestly, it’s too early since release to see how these guys do reliably in tournaments, but if you’re playing an all-elite army, which is what an Age of Sigmar all-dragon army is, then you should be used to dropping 600 points on a model. Think Sons of Behemat. Karazai the Scarred
