About this deal

Goth: Chloe apparently used to be one freshmen year. In the present day, she describes her aesthetic as "dark academia". From the New York Times bestselling author of One Last Stop and Red, White & Royal Blue comes a debut YA romantic comedy about chasing down what you want, only to find what you need... It has been published and translated in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Finland, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Sweden, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Spain, Israel, and Uruguay. [31] Effervescent and empowering on all levels, Red, White & Royal Blue is both a well-written love story and a celebration of identity. McQuiston may not be royal herself, but her novel reigns as must read rom-com." - NPR

McQuiston's third book, I Kissed Shara Wheeler, was released on May 3, 2022. [40] The book is their first for the young adult age group and is a rom-com set in a Christian high school in Alabama. The book follows Chloe Green after she moves from SoCal to Willowgrove Christian Academy. Her rivalry for valedictorian with Shara Wheeler leads to a kiss before Shara vanishes. Chloe must team up with Shara's other love interests to find her. Shut up,” Chloe hisses. Up close, his eyes are hazel-y brown and wide open in alarm. “The neighbors could hear you.” Smith develops an understanding of what it means to be nonbinary with help from Ash, and adopts a more outwardly feminine style for himself. He also realizes he has feelings for Rory and has had them for quite some time. By the end of the book, he’s dating Rory and growing out his hair. When Chloe asks, he says that he’s still using he/him pronouns “for now”. McQuiston describes Red, White & Royal Blue as a queer romcom and says that they write queer fiction "for the same reason straight people write straight fiction," meaning that they draw from their own experiences. [21] For protagonist Alex's realization that he's bisexual, they were inspired by their own experience. [1] The character of the fictional American president Ellen Claremont in the novel was inspired by American politician Wendy Davis, whose filibuster McQuiston watched and was deeply moved by in 2013. [22] One Last Stop is an electrifying romance that synapses into the dreamy "Hot Person Summer" kind of story you wish you were a part of. McQuiston is leading the charge for inclusive happy-ever-afters, radiant with joy and toe-curling passion, and bursting with the creative range to make anything from electricity to social activism sound sexy." - NPRAs always with McQuiston’s books, the characters were this book’s strength. From our fierce, determined main character, Chloe Green, to the endearing side characters to the elusive Shara Wheeler, all the characters were so real. They were complex and interesting, flawed and imperfect but loveable all the same. These characters were so believable, it felt like I was getting a peek into real lives. I loved the way they played off each other with natural dialogue and humour. a b c "Casey McQuiston Is Writing the Queer Rom-Coms She's Always Wanted to Read". Time . Retrieved November 22, 2021.

unlike the friends in casey’s previous novels, chloe, smith, and rory are not a tight-knit group. they have history, resentment, and emotional baggage among them that makes their common mission an entertaining journey. i highly enjoyed the amount of banter and insults and was fully invested in their chaos. Jerkass Realization: After her fight with Georgia, Chloe fears that she's a bad person. Her moms assure her that she isn't, but she does realize that she has a bit of an anger issue, where she comes across as angry when she's really scared. She also realizes that she's not the nicest person just in general, but that's just the kind of person she is, which isn't a problem.

A] fireworks in the sky, glitter in your hair joyous royal romance that you’ll want to fall head over heels in love with again and again. A+" - Entertainment Weekly BuzzFeed, "The Most Highly Anticipated Books Of 2022", "40 More Highly Anticipated Young Adult Novels Releasing In 2022", and "44 New LGBTQA+ YA Novels You Need This Spring" This book. This book was my growing up years. This was growing up (closeted) queer in a small town in Illinois, going to a conservative Christian school where we didn’t have prom or homecoming and no one was allowed to be anything but cookie cutter straight and perfect. The reality of my teen years slammed into me as I read this, leading me to randomly bawl my eyes out without warning as the story progressed.
