About this deal

L'Homme Idéal. The fragrance for the "ideal" man. But how is "ideal" defined or does not everyone have a different idea of "ideal"? So can one fragrance fit all ideas of "ideal", the "ideal" universal tool? If Guerlain has his way, the ideal man of today is wrapped in a sweet-rosy scent cloud. Masculine? No. But still very wearable, if you like this kind of scent. Ahhh ... the almond. Well then we go to the student emergency ration and dig around a little in the student food. Now the top note is perfect. The fragrance is a safe choice for cool to crisply cold temperatures. He keeps what the fragrance pyramid promises: almonds, tonka, vanilla with noble spices and leather and a little rose. Great and stylish. Despite a concentrated load of sweetness, it does not come across too feminine and the spice-leather-pink blend also enhances this fragrance and keeps it extremely elegant. The vanilla, almond and tonka combination comes across nicely gourmandig and has a slightly cherryy touch, which I like extremely well. Also the cinnamon-like spices fit here well into the rather winter ambience. In spite of the strong gourmand notes, it would also go well with a noble and elegant outfit. This is also a fragrance that does not develop extremely visibly. The basic DNA is always retained, but becomes softer and more cuddly after a few hours, whereby the creamy, gentle Tonka note also comes through. All in all a thoroughly pleasant crowdpleaser for cooler temperatures. With an intense and hot, powdery bouquet, L’Homme Idéal Eau de Parfum is a deeply sensual blend. Comprising of a number of notes and accords from the Oriental family, it comes across as a Woody Oriental Amber thanks to birch tar and sandalwood. Head Notes

Notes: Bergamot, spices and almond are in the top; Turkish rose, incense and vanilla are in the heart; and the base consists of sandalwood, leather and tonka. In summary, Guerlain L’Homme Ideal EDP opens as a sweet syrupy cherry aroma, with accommodating almond and spices. It then dries down to a subdued version of the opening but with added leather, incense, and tonka bean. This fragrance leans masculine, but only slightly. Development: ( Linear / Average / Complex): L'Homme Ideal EDP is somewhat linear; I don't really get much evolution of notes. The depth and richness are there from the start and rather than change over time, the scent simply relaxes. The incense here is not really smoky and the leather isn't of the sueded or Tuscan sort. Cherry isn't listed in the pyramid but almond often gives a similar vibe, so perhaps blended with the rose and bergamot this is where the cherry comes from. I wholeheartedly admit that I could be missing some of the evolution due to how quiet the scent gets after the 1 hour mark (see Sillage below). I came across L'Homme Idéal - Eau de Parfum for my series rather by chance and I would like to thank Shuqush for the bottling.According to the following criteria I have therefore selected 12 of these fragrances and will comment and compare them one by one: In addition, the price-performance ratio is also good, because on the Internet you can find 100ml for just under 50€, that's really clear.

Did you get all of that? The middle is Shalimar Perfume Initial mixed with cherry almond and incense and it is incredible.Leather is a perfect match for the signature vanilla tincture which comes to the fore in this Eau de Parfum. Guerlain is one of the last perfumers to use this age-old technique. The tincture is made using an artisanal process at the Orphin factory, where vanilla pods are cut into small pieces and steeped in alcohol until they take on a beautiful warm amber hue." -Guerlain.com

The ideal bottle? Masculine, luxurious and elegant. A square, faceted bottle with clean lines and unique taupe sides in a lacquered matte finish that would highlight the intensity of the fragrance. A bright– yet seductive– orange label. A heavy and decidedly masculine cap with gulloché detail borrowed from the world of watch-making. All I know is that our biology students recently cut up a few animals to get to know their anatomy a little better. I can't do anything with mice, rats or birds, but I already have an idea. However, the birch tar is somewhat more complex and gives off an accord that is reminiscent of suede leather. Homme Idéal’s Life-Cycle, Wake & Strength To make life difficult for children, to let them experience the injustices of everyday life, is simply part of it. So I'm going to be a good teacher and early practice, as you know. From my testing Guerlain L’Homme Ideal EDP performance is moderate. It sustains projection out from the skin for the first 2 hours. Then it lasts 7 hours more as an intimate scent bubble and skin scent. As for occasions, L’Homme Idéal is an eau de parfum best suited for the evenings. The flacon and its contents pair beautifully with the orange sky of a setting sun. Meanwhile, it’s quite high end and would be suitable for either romantic or formal occasions. Worn formally, L’Homme Idéal exudes sensuality and elegance, which is a dangerous combination with a tux. My conclusion: An independent fragrance, which in my opinion stands out very positively from the current "mainstream fragrance assortment" and can be used for many occasions. The fact that Guerlain is currently trying to "cannibalize" the L'Homme Ideal line a bit and is launching Flanker at ever shorter intervals is something I think is a pity, but it can't be considered too "reprehensible" in today's world when companies and fragrance houses are trying to exploit all possible levels for new sales. Guerlain doesn't have to prove anything to anyone anymore, as they have already launched several iconic fragrances in the past. In times when craftsmanship still stood above profit margins and the like.

I have there the neighbour of my parents, whose cherry tree is placed so beautifully on the property that it is every time simply only tempting to help itself there. So let's do this. The kids from the neighborhood would be to blame anyway. They get his frustration off, not me. The cherry almond lingers into the middle which is a fascinating part of the fragrance in my opinion. This is where the magic is. Getting the obvious out of the way, there's a hint of Dior Homme Intense, but that's not the comparison that really keeps my interest. What I love is the fact that Guerlain l'Homme Ideal Perfume has a sister perfume: Shalimar Perfume Initial, recently rebranded as l'Initial. There is a heavy dose of Initial's middle notes in this fragrance. And you know which fragrance Shalimar Initial is often compared to? Dior Homme Intense! However I myself see the Guerlain offerings as very unique fragrances that only have a passing similarity to Dior. Further driving interest and masculinity in this middle part is the beautiful incense note which is gently smoky but refined. I would say the incense note was lifted directly from one of Wasser's best fragrances, Tonka Imperiale, but maybe tilted just slightly more smoky here. Guerlain's creations are often said to have a slight "family resemblance" in the form of a common, classic "scent chord". This so-called "Guerlinade" is the "code name" for a mixture of jasmine, iris, tonka bean, bergamot, Bulgarian rose and vanilla. L'Homme Idéal - Eau de Parfum also quotes this tradition. The fragrance starts with an intense almond amaranth, (cherry) fruity note. In contrast to the sometimes tangy-nutty to slightly bitter, here it is quite clearly the sweet side of almond, complemented by the fruity side of bergamot. And in my opinion, a hint of cardamom and possibly also cinnamon is added at the beginning - slightly balsamic. The bergamot probably comes from Calabria, where Guerlain - by the way - has been switching to organic farming for a few years now. According to Thierry Wasser, many people do not know the scent of bergamot from nature, which in his opinion makes it mysterious. This is part of the concept here, "enveloping, seductive and mysterious" is how the fragrance should appear. Interestingly enough, the almond tree belongs to the rose family and almonds are known to be used in the production of marzipan. While rose water is occasionally added to round off the taste - i.e. in the production of marzipan - the (Bulgarian) rose follows here, also in a rounded form. The heart note, however, is determined by vanilla. The incense is added - and it does so in a wonderful and perfectly balanced way - which then slowly merges into the leather. The whole thing is framed in a further rounding off by soft sandalwood and the manel-like tonka. As a result, Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk have created two triads in L'Homme Idéal - Eau de Parfum, two three-tone chords: The classic "guerlinade" (enveloping, seductive) of (1) bergamot - (2) rose and vanilla - (3) tonka, and the wooden oriental (seductive, mysterious) of (1) almond and spices - (2) incense - (3) leather and sandalwood. And the "gourmand" of almond, vanilla and tonka combines the two triads into a melodic work of art, entirely in the intention of Thierry Wasser. Reminds me of: Dr. Pepper or Cheerwine soda pop; a subtler less powdery version of Rahat Loukhoum fragrances such as those by Serge Lutens and Keiko Mecheri; cherry pipe tobacco. Also a great choice in terms of price, which you can get in many shops for Guerlain ratios to small money. He is also worth the money because of this great performance. I bought 50ml for just under 50Euro. The 100ml version is also available for less than 70 Euros. Fair!In Guerlain's L'Homme Ideal range, the eau de parfum is certainly the fragrance for the cooler months and evenings, perhaps (with its classical DNA) for evenings with classical music. In my series, it's most likely to join Colonia Ambra (see "A dozen roses for men - 4/12"). The rose is also here accompanying and rounding off. Seldom have I experienced the development of a perfume from the top to the base note so finely and yet so clearly. However, for my taste - especially for an eau de parfum - the fragrance could be a bit stronger in the haltbarket and sillage. In any case, L'Homme Ideal - Eau de Parfum is "enveloping, seductive and mysterious" and 100% a wonderful gourmand. The L'Homme Ideal range from Guerlain now includes 6 fragrances. Starting with the EDT, this was followed by EdP, L'Intense, Cool, Sport and Cologne. A great row that gets along justly well here. Last year I bought myself the cologne, which is a great light summer gourmand. About 2 months ago then also this EdP, which could fit well for the coming cooler months. Also the EdT is super, but from the performance this one is simply grandios and also from the smell a style-safe choice. Trust me, this isn’t a scent you want to project massively anyway. Since it’s syrupy and dense, the current performance fits the profile well, and restrains it from becoming too overbearing. It Has Underrated Versatility Summary: The third of 4 versions of Guerlain's L'Homme Ideal (The Ideal Man), 2016's Eau de Parfum was recently recognized in the Fragrantica Awards as a fan favorite. The scent differs from the original with its richer notes of cherry, vanilla, and Turkish rose. On top of that, the text overlays the Be and You, which would actually make a fitting mascot for Bespoke Unit!
