About this deal

S20 introduces a new system of Palettes that can each be moved, resized, minimised, shown, or hidden, so you can customize the layout of your workspace. Important: You must be able to move the card exactly 2 spaces, so the ability cannot be used on the second or first card from the right. Unlimited brush radius size, instantly see object and compass positions, easily find which layer you're working in or an object belongs to, perform bulk operations on multiple assets types and so much more! More often than not, you might prefer to load an opponent’s train cars! Loading other players with cargo activates different powerful benefits, creating a great interaction between players. Will you fill up your rival’s tanker with oil so that you can gain three more cards and a free action? Or stingily keep the oil for yourself and struggle through like a miser? In Isle of Trains, it’s often better to give a little and gain a lot. Currency

Force all players to remove the first, last or centre cards of their lines. The removed cards go face-up in the centre of the play area. Each player then draws a new card from the draw pile to replace the removed card in their line. No more teeny tiny 3D asset preview window. The new Preview Palette allows you to resize and reposition it to always have a clear 3D preview of the selected asset. Most of the time you’re just chugging along working on your own line. Don’t get tunnel vision though - you’ll want to keep an eye on what your opponents are doing in case you need to derail their plans, or to make sure you don’t discard a card with an ability on it that they may be able to use to win, or whether you need to discard a card that has a matching ability to one already on the table to remove a card they might have wanted to use (see, I told you there was a little more thinking to it!)

S20 changes the way you create routes and sessions in Trainz! It streamlines your creation experience in so many ways and updates Trainz world building tools to a much more modern approach. Each player removes the corresponding card from their line except if it is protected (see below). The removed cards are put face up next to the draw pile and their abilities can be used by any player for action 2. Palettes can provide detailed information about your selected objects, or a set of controls used to edit and manipulate everything within the world. Shuffle the railcar cards and deal 7 to each player. Put the rest face down in a Draw pile in the middle of the table. Choose any of the face up cards next to the draw pile, discard this card and use the ability depicted on it. There are 8 different abilities, which are described below.List all route, session and effect layers to have them always in view and to show the current layer you are working in. When building you may use one card from your hand and place it in the play area after paying the charge, the charge will be paid using cards from your hand. Important: If after using this ability there are two or more cards with the same ability next to the draw pile, discard them in pairs (meaning that if there is an odd number of cards with the same ability, one will remain). Drive from Denver to Hot Sulphur Springs in this beautiful detailed journey through rugged mountainous terrain.

Game of Trains offers more choices during play. Players first choose whether to draw a new card or use a face up card ability. The various types of abilities also offer more choices in how to manipulate cards along the way. I’m not exaggerating though, the box for this game is very small – It definitely won’t take up a lot of precious shelf real estate in your collection. I may have made a few premature judgements when I saw the box size and read through the rules, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much this game had me planning and plotting once we played it. Game of Trains – Gameplay If there are no cards with abilities to use for action 2, then the player can perform only action 1 - draw a card. Each player is given a single locomotive card to head up their line and seven railcar cards. Each of these cards features some lovely artwork at the bottom, a special ability icon at the top and is numbered between 1-84. The rest of the cards are placed in a draw pile with some placed face-up to be used for their special abilities. A beautiful fantasy train game from Level 99 Games that is as simple as it is attractive – sowhile it’s a bit of a table hog, it doesn’t overwhelm players. A classic ‘build a route, and the resources will come’ game, each tile offers a resource, which can then be delivered to a city to complete a demand tile for points. Add in the special abilities of the conductor pawn on the personal player board, and you’ve got a little extra depth without too much overhead. Soon you’ll be building up machines to get you extra resources or actions, and making your network that little bit more powerful. A beautiful centrepiece for those who don’t mind a bit of make-believe on the rails. 8. First Class: All Aboard The Orient Express! Note: If any player fulfills the winning condition as an effect of this ability, the game stops immediately and this player becomes the winner (any other players who would still have to put a new card in place of the removed one do not get to act). However, there are still numerous differences between the two games that one won’t replace the other in our game collection.
