More information about all the features of this technology can be found in our previous article here. Availability and Pricing An obvious comparison with the new Samsung G8QNB is the Alienware AW3423DW, the first commercially available QD-OLED monitor, that uses the same Samsung panel. A few things that could make a significant difference:

that is, or may reasonably be considered to be, defamatory, libelous, hateful, racially or religiously biased or offensive, unlawfully threatening or unlawfully harassing to any person or entity; At Gamescom, ASUS revealed the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM based on a 31.5″ 4K 240Hz QD-OLED panel by Samsung. How does that compare to other gaming monitors? In its Standard mode, the AW3423DWF covered 180% of the sRGB color gamut and 127% of the DCI-P3 gamut, with a Delta-E value of 0.24. The Predator X32 FP’s display achieved 226% of the sRGB color gamut and 160% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, with a Delta-E value of 0.26. In short, the Odyssey OLED G8’s brightness and color accuracy aren’t far off from the competition. Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 review: Performance

The monitor has some pretty cool functions, a lot of settings you can change and play with. Also a bonus having all the smart apps, I don't particularly need them as I have a smart TV, but it would be cool if they made an option with out these features too, so it could be made cheaper for people who do not want or need these features. Most of the display’s modes produce oversaturated colors, which I personally quite liked. Doom Eternal and Cyberpunk 2077 benefit greatly since both have colorful worlds. In Standard mode, the display covered 183.3% of the sRGB color gamut and 129.9% of the more demanding DCI-P3 color space (closer to 100% is best), with a Delta-E value of 0.12 (closer to 0 is ideal). We saw these values across most of the available display modes. The OLED G8 does not require calibration. It is so close to spec that I could not realize any gain in visual quality or measured values with any of the provided adjustments. If you want the full color gamut for all content, choose Native from the color space menu.Sorry, rant over - I honestly was working on her setup and wanted to destory both of the G70B's moments before I saw this. OLED technology creates near instant reaction time with the blistering 0.1ms response time and 175Hz refresh rate. Milliseconds count when you face the best. Games utilizing a first-person perspective truly take advantage of the monitor’s curved display. When I fired up Doom Eternal and Cyberpunk 2077, I felt like I was dropped into the middle of their respective worlds. Details like alien ruins in the former and neon-drenched streets in the latter came through nicely, and I often stopped to take in the surroundings. I can’t do justice to how gorgeous games look on this monitor. This form factor is basically equivalent to two 24.5″ 2560×1440 displays side by side – just without the bezels in between them. So, you get a high 119.52 PPI (pixels per inch) for sharp details and text. However, if you work with a lot of text, you might find it bothersome. You can use Better ClearType and Mac/FreeType to alleviate this issue in some applications.

For the pro gamer and the novice, Samsung designs its latest Odyssey gaming monitor to transform your experience. Enter: the OLED G85SB. Crafted for maximum quality, the Neo Quantum Processor ensures crystal-clear imagery so that your favourite worlds, dungeons, and environments are rendered like never before. If that wasn’t enough, the 34-inch screen boasts a 0.1ms response time & 175hz refresh rate, so you can bid goodbye to buffering and say hello to near-instant reaction time. Further, it has 4K UHD resolution, which will look very sharp even at this screen size due to the high pixel density of roughly 116 PPI (pixels per inch). Added the KTC M32P10S– the first 32″ 4K 165Hz 1152-zone mini LED FALD gaming monitor with a flat-screen VA panel. The Odyssey OLED G8’s built-in speakers are decent enough, but I wouldn’t want to use them as my primary speakers when using this monitor. For the best HDR results on the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8, we recommend using the ‘Custom’ Picture Mode and making sure ‘Game Mode’ and ‘Peak Brightness’ options are enabled. ‘Game HDR’ should be disabled and ‘HDR10+ Gaming’ set to ‘Advanced.’ We know now as well that the screen will offer 1x Mini DisplayPort 1.4 , USB type-C (DP Alt mode and power delivery not confirmed yet) and Micro HDMI 2.1 connectivity although we’re not sure how many of the latter will be included. The screen does not use a Native NVIDIA G-sync module like Dell’s screen does, allowing for support of these alternative video interfaces, including HDMI 2.1. Whether or not this has an impact on gaming experience and VRR performance is not yet clear. The screen is certified under the AMD FreeSync Premium scheme though. While the speakers can get fairly loud without distortion, everything sounds too thin and tinny — which can become grating over time. You’re better off using one of the best wireless headphones instead. Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 review: Interface and features LG’s W-OLED panels also have a different layout (WRGB) from the common RGB stripe layout, so they have a similar issue too.
