About this deal

Earasers’ standard NRR (Noise Reduction Rating) is -5dB (-19dB peak), and though Earasers reduce many of the frequencies that would damage your hearing, I have seen some users report it not being enough to feel ‘safe’ with, compared to something like the Etymotic ER20XS mentioned above, which have a rating of -20dB. No two people have perfectly identical ears. They’re all a little different. I refer not only to my weirdly squared off left earlobe, and how it contrasts with my much more attractively rounded right, but also to the shape of my ear canals, and how they differ from yours. The DeciBullz have an impressive volume reduction of 31dB. That’ll make any Metal concert feel like an Americana jam at a gazebo in the park. Stress-free environments, work, home or the gym (lookin’ at you, spin instructors!)? ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞ ☞ Musician earplugs.

Etymotic ER20XS are the next gen Etymotic ER20’s, they quite common (they do a good job…) and are reusable, they aren’t the toughest plugs, but they also aren’t the most expensive. The Elacin universal ER20 product range includes three versions. Each mould provides unique characteristics for a variety of situations. This is an incredibly high figure, due to drummers being exposed to high sound levels for extended periods of time, while playing loud concerts and rehearsing for long sessions. These ear plugs gently reduce the volume of the sound, and their design prevents sound distortion. You can therefore hear quite clearly. They are suitable for multiple purposes in moderately noisy environments, but they are especially ideal for music.

Earplugs, and the resulting occlusion, can be very striking as it alters our ear canal resonance and skews the balance between airborne sounds (ex. music) and internal resonances (ex. voice). Here are a few recommendations: The impressive Etymotic Research High Fidelity Earplugs come in a ‘standard fit’ size that fits most ear canals. These earplugs are designed to reduce up to 20dB of noise whilst offering comfort and also enhancing the music listening experience as opposed to standard earplugs. They’re pretty firm once they’ve cooled down, so they’re not the most comfortable earplugs in the world. The ER20 Etymotic ear plugs are popular worldwide and designed to offer noise protection in all environments, especially concerts. Now let’s talk sound quality – I’m impressed but also feel it’s an unfair advantage. I am testing these in my acoustically sound music studio through some excellent monitor speakers so I decided not to compare them to any of the other earplugs in this article for the sake of candor.

That’s the main point of these things, right? To live submerged in the music you love, and, not go deaf? In fact, your ears can probably handle 85 dB for about eight continuous hours before it becomes harmful. Elacin ER20 is designed for occasional use by music enthusiasts. Thanks to the flat attenuation of the acoustic filter, this earplug is great for events like concerts and festivals and going to cafes, pubs and bars. Comfort Foam plugs aren’t designed for listening, they’re designed for sound elimination. Obviously, they can’t perfectly remove all sound, but they are very effective at preventing vibrations in the air from making it all the way to your eardrum. The earplugs are made of medical grade, hypoallergenic silicone, and the acoustic filters go through 4 separate manufacturing steps to get a precise amount of unobstructed sound. You want plugs that turn down the volume of the world around you, the same way you would turn down the volume in a car.

Don't spoil the very senses that provided you with the gift of sound, keep them protected so you can continue to enjoy music in its fullest detail. The Shaw ER20 earplugs are configured to reproduce the exact sound you hear, at a quieter level that doesn't cause damage to your ears. Ideal for any situation with constant high volume, the ER20s are re-usable and washable, providing a long-term solution to protecting your ears, with a handy carrying case for transport. About Shaw PercussionThe sound levels within a venue will vary, dependent on where you’re standing, where the speakers are located, and the direction(s) in which the music is being played. Even the shape of the room can affect volume in different areas.

Foam earplugs are everywhere, and of course they are. They’re cheap — many would argue that they’re even too cheap. Unfortunately, they’re not really the ideal pair of plugs for the concert attendee, though. Remember that “flat frequency response” thing from earlier? These don’t do that, and the reason is simple. You risk permanent damage to hearing when the ears aren’t given themselves the time to heal. Noise damage accumulates over extended periods of time when the repair process can’t keep up with the ongoing rate of damage. ETY•Plugs are reusable, but with repeated use, the eartips may lose elasticity. For best performance and retention, if you use your ETY•Plugs constantly, consider replacing them every 3-6 months. ETY•Plugs use a tuned resonator and acoustic resistor to replicate the natural response of the ear canal. This unique construction, combined with Etymotic’s proprietary sound path, reduces sound levels evenly across the frequency range without changing the sound quality. Result: Music and speech remain clear, but quieter and safer. If you have ever wondered what the best earplugs for concerts are? That’s going to depend on your ears and your choice in concerts…

These are earplugs that are made from molds of your ear canal. That means they create a perfect seal, letting no sound leak in. A good sea is what you are looking for. Without it the sound will leak in around the plug, making it much less effective. While that sounds like a lot of big and fancy wording, I could easily feel how high-quality these plugs were when using them. The ER20 XS have a low profile making them very discreet when you wear them. The average attenuation of these earplugs is 13 decibels but it can go up to 20 decibels depending on the situation.
