The first patent (5,505,054) was filed in August 1994 and issued on April 9th, 1996. The inventors are Greg Loibl, and his co-advisors, Irv Brazinsky and George Sidebotham, both tenured Cooper Union faculty members. It's amazing how high wattage can support so small cooler. As we found out, the Rasetsu is 4°C more effective when the heat pipes are oriented horizontally (the right photo) rather than otherwise (the left photo) although the convex CPU cap may have influenced the results.
