About this deal

Features a THE LEGO MOVIE 2 spaceship toy with a minifigure seat and a lunar buggy with 2 minifigure seats.

According to Matthew Aston, one of the producers for the movie, Lenny’s design drew inspiration from Kylie Minogue, specifically her pink space suit from the Put Yourself In My Place music video. His name Lenny is also a nod to “ Charlene Robinson“, the character she played in the Aussie soap opera, Neighbours. This space toy for kids includes 4 new-for-January-2019 THE LEGO MOVIE 2 minifigures: Benny, Lenny, Jenny and Kenny. And I distinctly remember also reading that white and red, the _original_ two colors from before the days of printed torsos, were intended to represent American astronauts and Russian cosmonauts. So there’s clearly some internal disagreement on exactly what the colors mean. I hope we learn from the movie what role Pink Classic Space minifigs play – I hope it’s something cool. Maybe Engineering? The Pink Classic Space Minifigure has been christened Lenny and joins Kenny, Benny (who we all know and love) and Jenny to form Benny’s Space Squad. You know what makes an awesome day even awesomer? When you grab a friend and start dancing – then you can be AWESOME TOGETHER! Join the amazingly awesome stars of THE LEGO MOVIE 2 as they boogie their hearts out throughout all of the incredible universes you’ll explore in the movie. They’re all here: fan favorites from the original THE LEGO MOVIE™ like Emmet, Lucy, Batman™, Benny, and Unikitty™, plus all-new characters Rex Dangervest, Sweet Mayhem, Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi, Banarnar, Ice Cream Cone, and more! And when the music starts pumping, their toes start tapping – this beat is so funky that the crew take their moves across the galaxy, from the wastelands of Apocalypseburg, the strange galaxy of the Systar System, the mysterious verdant Alien Jungle, and the eternally happy place known as Harmony Town. There’s no way you can sit still watching this number – you’ll be bopping to the beat in no time, learning moves that you didn’t know your body could do. The inclusion of Lenny, the new Pink Classic Spaceman is another master-stroke as it effectively expands the Classic Space universe in the same way that the Exo Suit did. Like many LEGO fans, this set caught me quite off guard, especially the inclusion of Lenny, the pink Classic Space minifigure.

I cannot speak highly enough about this set – it nails it from every conceivable aspect and is a brilliant, brilliant homage to Classic Space. Here’s a look at the Yellow and White Classic Space Minifigures, named Kenny and Jenny respectively.I hope LEGO made enough of Benny’s Space Squad to go around as they’ll be snapped up even at full price. Even at full price, this set is an incredible steal. Among the countless licensed LEGO themes, which bring dozens and dozens unique pre-determined pieces, this tiny, simple set feels like a breath of fresh air — although, it’s almost literally a set from the 1980’s. Benny was among the most popular characters to appear in The LEGO Movie from 2014, as one might expect given his origins in Classic Space. This magnificent subtheme has remained iconic across four decades, inspiring great excitement following the announcement of 70841 Benny's Space Squad!

The mixture of grey, blue and yellow pieces means that this guy looks like he belongs in a retro space movie with Benny by his side. The arms can be rotated and, of course, you can also set the lever-piece antenna to whatever angle you need. Other than this, however, you’re going to need a bit of imagination power for playtime here. Lunar Buggy

This set almost feels tailor made for Space fans, coming in at a low price and containing four different coloured space explorers with a classic style. Benny’s new chums are named Kenny (in yellow), Lenny (in pink) and Jenny (in white). This is the first time that a LEGO space explorer has ever been released in a pink uniform. Lego released the first sets from the second dose of The Lego Movie at the end of last year since which it’s also announced more sets including the range-topping Welcome to Apocalypeburg And Rex’s Explorer. Rex's Explorer is the only set not out yet. The piece numbers on this set are extremely low, at less than 70, but let’s face it, you’re not buying this set for the rudimentary builds, this is very much about the minifigures on offer. Aren’t they glorious? Benny’s Space Squad is made up of a colourful collection of clones with similar names, Jenny, Kenny, and Lenny and with the exception of their colour you can’t tell them apart.
