About this deal

If, like my mum, you've never heard of Aperol until now - it's an Italian bitter apéritif, known for its distinctive bright orange colour and unique bittersweet taste. In my non-expert opinion, it tastes like boozy orange peel, but add it to prosecco with a splash of soda water and it creates something magical... Aperol Spritz. An infusion of blossoms, roots and spices are balanced with wormwood before, lastly, distilled Chapel Down Chardonnay grape skin distillate is added to enhance the flavor. With a low ABV of 0.9 units per serve, it’s designed for a longer, lighter drink experience and is ‘set to disrupt the UK vermouth category and redefine aperitif culture’ in the country.

Pernod Ricard-owned Havana Club launched a digital platform to allow consumers to design their own rum bottles. Michael Dean, head of marketing at White Claw, said: “White Claw is not just a category that lives in summer; more and more we are seeing the demand in the winter months, which is when UK clubbing culture comes into its own.”Art of Italicus captures the inspiration behind Giuseppe’s vision, the brilliance of the liquid and the creative excellence that lies behind the standout design,” said Rowan Miller, creative director at Stranger and Stranger. Warren Scott, founder of Kliro Capital Partners, commented: “We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of ICB. It is a good business with a strong leadership team and we believe that there is significant potential for growth both in the UK and beyond. It is made at the Melissanidi Distillery using a secret recipe of 12 botanicals, herbs and spices. Raised in Athens and Mykonos, Zouganeli has collaborated with brands such as Dior and Swarovski.

This has the most vibrant colour and is a new release by Morrisons - which is perhaps why it was positioned right at the entrance of the shop I went to. They are selling it as a way "to enjoy a classic Summer Spritz for less". And that it is as it is the joint cheapest of the options we taste tested.Beginning this month, three Fair Trade-certified BLK & Bold blends will hit shelves across the US on BLK & Bold and Keurig digital platforms and at Target and Albertson’s, with more retailers to be added throughout the year. Varieties include: The aperitivo brand has also gained listings in wholesalers including Molson Coors, HB Clark, Inverarity Morton, and Dunns Food & Drinks.

It's also the Marmite of the alcohol world. Poll your friends and it's pretty much guaranteed half of them will say it's their absolute favourite beer garden beverage, while the rest will pull a face and say it tastes like cough medicine. We have been experiencing a strong and continuous growth in the UK for the past few years, and this new partnership will provide the brand increased support to sustain its development and achieve our ambitions.” The Aperitivo smelled a lot boozier, as well, so it wasn't surprising that it tasted more alcoholic than the first two. The taste was very similar to Aperol's - not quite as sweet, but the same zesty orange flavour and colour, with a strong but pleasant aftertaste. Nemiroff has a strong, unique brand image and award-winning taste. It is a perfect match to expand our portfolio.”A collaboration between English wine producer Chapel Down and spirits distiller Capreolus Distillery has resulted in Aker: a new English aperitif. Compared to Aperol, the liqueur smelled slightly strange - almost chemically. It was also noticeably paler in the glass. Produced by UK-based Intercontinental Brands, Bella Apertini has also gained listings in wholesalers including Molson Coors, HB Clark, Inverarity Morton and Dunns Food & Drinks.
