About this deal

In Roman mythology, Aurōra renews herself every morning and flies across the sky, announcing the arrival of the Sun. Her parentage was flexible: for Ovid, she could equally be Pallantis, signifying the daughter of Pallas, [4] or the daughter of Hyperion. [5] She has two siblings, a brother ( Sol, the Sun) and a sister ( Luna, the Moon). Roman writers rarely imitated Hesiod and later Greek poets by naming Aurōra as the mother of the Anemoi (the Winds), who were the offspring of Astraeus, the father of the stars. Whichever fantastical tale captures your imagination, one thing is certain: the Northern Lights were assigned great power and significance by the peoples of ancient Nordic societies. Whether a harbinger of good or evil, the lights were as magical and revered as they continue to be today. Heroes lighting up the sky InFinland, the Northern Lights are known as‘revontulet’ , which can be literally translated as ‘fire fox’. The name comes from the rather beautiful myth that Arctic foxes were responsible for creating the aurora. They would run through the sky so fast that when their large, furry tails brushed against the mountains, they created sparks that lit up the sky. First off: the book starts with a bang. Aurora has infiltrated in a mine, when she discovers a horrible laboratory hidden inside it, with two wolf shapeshifters on the brink of death and the beautiful avian Evie. She rescues all of them, but the escape after Aurora destroys the facility goes awry, as Evie is shot down by artillery (yes, artillery!). Aurora, while she distrusts avians, helps her get away, which is followed by 21 chapters of tedium. I will get to that soon. Aurora moaned and when she spoke her voice was low and husky. “Evie, you’re playing a dangerous game.”

Many of the stories surrounding the Northern Lights in North American communities arose from the belief that they were the souls of departed ancestors.

Smithga said:A typical F...book addictive answer... Or you forgot to write the warning: "This is a place for an ad!" The magic involving Angel Aurora is a wisdom unknown. She is strongly presiding over a magic called, Planetary Magic. She often aids in cosmic deliverance of light, from the sky above. In ancient history, many civilizations practiced this kind of magic, but without knowing that as they did, the angels of the highest realms did not respond, but better yet, it had been the angels of the rebellions, who were closest to this realm, who responded to the callings. Angel Aurora tried to intervene by helping mankind in receiving some of the cosmic energy that she had. This way they would be safe, and have a good chance of obtaining their intentions. Drawing the energy from the sun. The sixth ray is also the ray of peace, and Uriel and Aurora keep the flame of peace for mankind until they are able to invoke it for themselves. These angels prepare the way for the unfoldment of the light of God within each soul. Aurora carries the Mother feeling of peace and love to all mankind. Hers is the assurance that always flows from a mother's love—all is well, “the dawn is coming.” The Sixth Ray of Peace Other Nordic legends claim the aurora was the breath of brave soldiers who died in combat. In other stories, the aurora was believed to be the ‘Bifrost Bridge’, a glowing, pulsing arch which led fallen warriors to their final resting place in Valhalla. Like Greek Eos and Rigvedic Ushas, Aurōra continues the name of an earlier Indo-European dawn goddess, Hausos.

Mention in literature and music [ edit ] Aurōra and Cephalus, 1733, by François Boucher Aurōra Taking Leave of Tithonus Abby Craden. That should almost be all I need to write because, honestly, who is going to complain about listening to Abby Craden for over twenty hours? Her narration is top-notch as usual, well-paced with wonderfully fitting and distinctive voices for each character. I do have a lot more to say about this story however, because wow… The writing was firm and functional, sort of like Lee Winter's if you like her writing too. Not overly flowery, but impactful - I liked how the writing reflected the gravity of the stakes.

Norse myths and legends

Aurora, a battle-weary shapeshifter huntress, forms an unexpected bond with Evie, a broken-winged angel, while on a dangerous mission together. As they face deadly enemies and their growing attraction, Evie must help Aurora heal emotionally and fight for their survival. Most of this book features heavily around a quest for Aurora and Evie's journey home - both aspects that feature heavily in fantasy novels. Uriel and Aurora are the archangels of the sixth ray of ministration and service. Their retreat is located in the etheric realm over the Tatra Mountains, south of Cracow, Poland. In their ministrations, they guard the dawn of the Christ consciousness in mankind and elemental life. Will help awaken and activate your heart chakra, in finding self love, compassion, and love for all life in creation even ones of the darkest forms. She will help you tap into your infinite love/light source energy in your everyday life and use this force-field to heal all around you. When you are in times of despair and have lost hope, she will come to you to remind you of the great beauties that you are as the fractal of creation you are. by Francesco Solimena Apollo and Aurōra, 1671 by Gerard de Lairesse Aurōra Heralding the Arrival of the Morning Sun, c. 1765, by François Boucher This book kept me engaged from start to finish. It's the type of read where the story slowly unravels and is very much character driven. Evie and Aurora are amazing characters that you can't help but absolutely love. Aurora particularly - my heart absolutely bled for her at times, whereas Evie was the unexpected heroine.

Now with all that said let's jump into the review. I'm far from the first person to write about Aurora's Angel- it literally won a Lambda award and in my opinion 100% rightly so. This book is wonderful!

But not everybody saw the aurora as a harbinger of doom. Estonians, for example, believed that the Northern Lights were wonderful sleighs taking guests to a spectacular wedding celebration in the heavens. For example, you find yourself staring at the golden rose handbags or accessories in the store window display. Nature & Season Empowerment: Aurora is able to empower himself with the forces of nature as well as the seasons. Note: I think Aurora was a very unfortunate name to use on a main character, not even a seasoned pro like Abby Craden could get it out of her mouth elegantly. It is important that you continue to ride this wave of spectacular energy! Do not allow other people’s jealousies, doubts, or fears to bring you down or cause you to feel like you should play small. This is your time! Staying in your place of spiritual power and allowing the Universe to bring you all that you desire will inspire others to follow their dreams as well.
