The serum is formulated for all skin types and is oil-free, silicone-free, alcohol-free, nut-free, and gluten-free. Derma E Advanced Peptides & Flora-Collagen Moisturizer (previously called Derma E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Moisturizer) is formulated to smooth the look of wrinkles and improve skin elasticity. Works well with: One study suggests that it works well in conjunction with another peptide, tripeptide-10-citrulline, which increases the permeability for Argireline to penetrate to a depth where it can target muscles that cause wrinkles. It’s also often combined with hyaluronic acid to up the hydration benefits.

The Ordinary’s formulation is water-based and avoids oils, esters, and silicones to prevent potential ineffectiveness. Ingredients I don’t think this is the product that’s going to fill in lines; I have some almost unnoticeable lines on my forehead that didn’t go away. However, I do think it helps combat lines or wrinkles created during facial movement, such as an eyebrow raise or frown. I notice that my brows don’t appear as high on my forehead as usual, and the line in between my eyebrows only appears after I’ve stood in front of the mirror frowning for, like, a minute (I live alone, I need entertainment). Squalane is a natural moisturizer and similar in structure to our skin’s own sebum. It improves surface-level hydration and offsets some of the dryness that can come along with retinol. Unlike Botox, this peptide is perfectly safe. Unfortunately, it doesn’t permeate very well into the skin, so it’s often combined with another ingredient or a peptide like tripeptide-10-cirtrulline to enhance this ability. ( 1) This product is really made for the very specific purpose of treating eye-area and forehead wrinkles. It’s targeted—not a product for generalized aging skin. Since those lines aren’t a big problem for me yet, I don’t think I would use this product right now. I wouldn’t rule it out in the future, though.
