About this deal

The receiver is equipped to give you a number of different readings based on the information it receives. Its primary function is to show the level of oil/liquid in the tank by way of bars on the screen. The more bars you see, the more oil you have in the tank. Each bar represents 1/10 th the height of your tank, e.g. if there are 5 bars showing, this would indicate your tank is half full. The bars will begin to recede as you gradually use the oil in the tank. 10 bars tell you that the tank is full and when the level reaches a low preset level in the tank an “Early Warning Nozzle” is shown. As the level drops further, the “Almost Empty” red light will flash on the screen. No, the Apollo smart transmitter contains specific hardware to work in conjunction with the Apollo Smart monitor. You will be unable to gain accurate readings with another type of transmitter from the Apollo range. When the Apollo Smart has been unplugged and is plugged in again, it will start up in ‘Lrn’ mode. Simply press any key to exit. I have soldered two wires onto the inputs to the bridge rectifier and on my PCB it reads 5.0 volts A/C. I think this needs to be about 8 volts A/C for the unit to work correctly. If the tank is filled to the top as described then the oil/liquid will be too close to the underside of the transmitter and will result in intermittent incorrect readings or Errors until the oil/liquid level drops to 100 – 120 mm from the top of the tank. The readings will then return to normal without any adjustments or action needed. Please note depending on oil usage this may take a couple of weeks. The reason for the foregoing is that the Ultrasonics bounces a sound from the surface of the oil/liquid and measures the time it takes to then give a reading but if the oil/liquid is too close then it cannot record a time, it, therefore, needs a distance of 100 – 120 mm to give a correct.

Apollo Ultrasonic Oil Tank Level Monitor/Gauge is suitable for almost any tank up to 3 metres tall. Easy to fit, the Apollo Ultrasonic can be installed in minutes. Monitor Features: No, as you have not used any oil, the level of oil has remained constant thus the monitor has received the same reading. Upon using your oil again, the unit will update the Days to empty again. Note depending on your oil usage, this may take up to 1 week. You may place the transmitter up to 200 metres from the receiver, line of sight. Please keep in mind that obstacles such as walls, re-enforced walls, metal objects or metal buildings reduce that distance.

Q19. What if the oil in the tank is full to the very top, will this harm the Apollo transmitter and will I receive a correct reading? Q19. I have removed my transmitter from the tank and have found that the liquid in the tank has left a chalky residue on the bottom of the transmitter. Will this affect its performance? It looks like a electrolytic capacitor. It's stupid to use that type in a device that's normally on 24/7 because they have a limitted life span. To extend the life of these units consider not using them 24/7. One size fits all. The Apollo Ultrasonic is suitable for almost any tank up to 3 metres tall, irrespective of manufacturer, capacity or material of construction Solar Hot Water Cylinders Kingspan Ultrasteel Plus Hot Water Cylinders Kingspan Ultrasteel Plus DIRECT UNVENTED Hot Water Cylinders Kingspan Ultrasteel Plus INDIRECT UNVENTED Hot Water Cylinders

Q2. I have lost the instructions – how do I rematch the unit and how do I know what Pin settings to set on the rear of the receiver plug. Tank mounted ultrasonic transmitter unit, compatible with the standard 32mm port fitted to modern plastic oil storage tanks.Fitted as standard by more plastic oil tank manufacturers in the UK and Republic of Ireland than any other gauging system, Apollo Oil Tank Contents Gauges are the modern, convenient way to take control of your fuel! The Apollo Visual offers the following benefits: The Apollo Bund is a combined Tank gauge and Bund warning device. The Apollo Bund consists of the transmitter, which must be positioned on the top of the inner or primary tank and is fitted as a normal Apollo. The bund-warning element is the float switch, which is attached/hardwired to the base of the transmitter. On installation, the float switch/sensor must be located between the inner tank and the internal wall of the bund. Do not place directly into the oil. The Apollo Smart has a number of handy features available for the user’s easy viewing on the receiver display. Fuel consumption is monitored and displayed in litres and cost by day, week, month or year, which is also used to estimate the number of days until the tank is empty. This function ensures that the home owner can always arrange a fuel delivery before their tank runs out. Q22. I have removed my transmitter from the tank and have found that the liquid in the tank has left a chalky residue on the bottom of the transmitter. Will this affect its performance?

Apollo Ultrasonic Display:

Tanks should only be filled to 95% of their brimful capacity. In the event that the tank is filled to the top, this will not harm the transmitter as it is a sealed unit. If the tank is filled to the top as described then the oil/liquid will be too close to the underside of the transmitter and will result in intermittent incorrect readings or flashing triangle until the oil/liquid level drops to 100 – 120 mm from the top of the tank. After which the readings will return to normal without any adjustments or action needed. Tank mounted ultrasonic transmitter unit, compatible with the standard 20mm port fitted to modern plastic oil storage tanks (please ensure adequate space on tank to mount transmitter)

Positioned above the maximum liquid level inside the tank, the Apollo Ultrasonic can assist in ensuring compliance with secondary containment requirements. You may place the transmitter up to 200 metres away from the receiver, line of sight. Please keep in mind that obstacles such as walls, re-enforced walls, granite walls, metal objects or metal buildings reduce that distance. If your tank is inside a shed or building separate from the receiver device, it may cause issues.
