About this deal

I always enjoy spending time with Roy Grace and the cast of characters in his novels, but this one had a few issues that dragged the rating down a bit for me - some that aren't particularly new ones, and others more peculiar to this book. This book has multiple characters ranging from Hollywood stars to London detectives, delusional murderers and all the while the author goes chapter to chapter giving the actions and thoughts of the different individuals so the reader can live with them and try to experience and solve the who dun it as it develops. It’s the publication of the Sussex author’s latest crime novel, Not Dead Yet, featuring the county’s favourite policeman, Detective Superintentdent Roy Grace.

James presents the reader with a number of stalkers and when Gaia’s life is threatened, we are unsure about which of the crazy fans is the real danger. The writing as ever flows brilliantly, and though some of the storyline seemed a bit far-fetched in places I did still find it to be gripping with a few really good twists. But then James really knows his local officers because he regularly shadows the force to ensure his procedural detail is spot on.Cold Hill House was burned to the ground, and with it, all the terrible memories of the house’s violent history went up in smoke. Ollie is sure this is the right move for his family, but his wife and twelve-year-old daughter aren’t convinced. After the halfway mark, I actually came to really like this as it kept me on my toes and made the book a bit more exciting. At Books2Door, we believe that reading is a fundamental skill that every child should have to help improve their vocabulary, grammar, and critical thinking skills.

As such, the book reads less like a crime novel and more like the literary equivalent of an episode in a TV series. Not Dead Yet opens as the fictional Gaia Lafayette contemplates her coming role in a historical film based on the love affair of George IV (nicknamed Prinny) and his ”secret wife”, Maria Fitzherbert, to be filmed in Brighton, England. We work closely with publishers and authors to ensure that we offer the best books on the market for your child.Detective Roy Grace heads up the team, and tries to keep Gaia safe while tracking down suspects—is it the guy who thinks his actress girlfriend should have gotten Gaia's role in the film? In opting for multiple characters and perspectives, we don’t always see things from Grace’s point of view and his is not the controlling intelligence trying to fit the pieces together.

Initially, I found it hard to get into the book - each chapter, some no longer than 1-2 pages, flicked to another person narrating. The worlds of Tinseltown and Brighton clash as a movie adaptation of the relationship between King George IV and Maria Fitzherbert hits town. Now an ultra-modern housing development has been built on the site, and despite the ongoing construction work, the first two families to move in are certain they’ve found their dream homes. In the most spine-tingling part of the story the chandelier does indeed fall down and leaves one person dead. Before he died, it seems, Felix Vodyanov was linked to a passenger ferry that sank in 1994, an even earlier U. I think a conclusion to this element of the story would make me a lot happier because I find myself just shaking my head in disappointment every time I read a bit more.
