It’s a really quick read and just fun all around, even if the original series wasn’t your absolute favorite. This article covers a subject that is part of the real world, and thus should not be taken as a part of the Peculiar Children universe. This is a very detailed and fascinating guide into the peculiar world of the “Miss Peregrine” series that I have devoured from page to page.

I always love when a series releases a sort of guide to the world and some parts of it, so this was perfect for me. P herself ( a favorite character of mine of any story )This book is more a collectors item to the series, a textbook (quite literally) of the functions of the peculiardom so it's a little hard to rate; I will say it was a joyful and lighthearted read, though it lacked any real story and organization. This is a spinoff from the Miss Peregrine series purporting to be a guide to Peculiardom written by Miss Peregrine herself. Normals fear what they do not understand, and fear is a cancer that can quickly metastasize into hatred and violence (page 110).This essential volume is the ideal primer for anyone curious about the world of Miss Peregrine: an overview of its strange history, curious practices, fascinating places, the most famous (and infamous) members of its peculiar families, and much more. It somewhat feels like this book was written as a way for Ransom Riggs to have people see more of his antique photographs that he’s collected, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing since I know a lot of people fell in love with the Miss Peregrine’s series because of the antique photos. Gloriously rich and utterly delightful, Miss Peregrine’s Museum of Wonders is an indispensable guide to the peculiar world, perfect for longtime fans and new listeners alike. Just be careful looking at anything involving Jacob and his grandfather ahead of reading all the books bc you might read a spoiler.

that being said, I sadly really struggled with the style of writing in this one, simply because it reminded me of a textbook.

Some of they entertaining others really just fleshing out aspects hinted at in the books (and film) but all if interest and creatively presented. Miss Peregrine's Museum of Wonders can easily be read as a standalone or an introduction to the peculiar world . But I loved reading the lore and information about the world simply because I love world building, and the structure of this one made it especially entertaining. od svojeg hobija -skupljanja starih i čudnovatih fotografija po buvljacima- riggs je napravio dobar i, vjerujem, unosan posao. It was very informative and the "handwritten" notes from Miss Peregrine made it feel like I was reading Jacob's personal copy!

While I did learn some new things in this book, like how they classify peculiars and the history of some of the peculiar events, this was mostly repeated information. There was all of the nitty gritty details I love about world building (and had wanted a bit more about in the actual series) in this book, so if you enjoyed the series at least a little bit and are a fan of world building, I’d encourage checking this out.The addition of Miss Peregrine’s comments and notes to Jacob made it tie in with the series in a fun way, so I’m glad I read it immediately after finishing the series. Gloriously rich and utterly delightful, Miss Peregrine's Museum of Wonders is an indispensable guide to the peculiar world, perfect for longtime fans and new readers alike. I read the first three books in Miss Peregrine's a long time ago and was absolutely in love with them, but the second trilogy didn't feel the same for me.

This book is for the true fan - as the title suggests this is a hand book to the Peculiar world and as such is a collection of articles and guides written to help guide the newly found Peculiar in to that world. I grew up on a farm on the Eastern shore of Maryland and also in a little house by the beach in Englewood, Florida where I got very tan and swam every day until I became half fish. When I was a little older I got a camera for Christmas and became obsessed with photography, and when I was a little older still my friends and I came into possession of a half-broken video camera and began to make our own movies, starring ourselves, using our bedrooms and backyards for sets.Written in Miss Peregrine's inimitable style, it's also a dramatic expansion of the universe fans have already come to love, introducing countless new peculiars, enemies, time loops, stories, and secrets, in addition to hundreds of never-before-seen vintage found photographs and select illustrations. Ransom Riggs grew up in Florida but now makes his home in the land of peculiar children -- Los Angeles.
