MY THOUGHTS: Buckle up your seat belt and hold on tight, for here the evil hides within plain sight. Credibility was a bit stretched in the second half, as a series of shocking twists rained down on me, and I felt the tentative emotional ties I had built with the characters fray and snap in the wake of these. The panic and fear, tension and suspense builds and you feel as if you are on a rollercoaster ride propelling you at great momentum towards an outcome you cannot foresee. P.S- i don't care if i'm judged on the basis of, i wanted to know more about Elijah's past, trauma and sickness.

The mystery was complex, multi-layered, well-paced, and unsettling with a multitude of shocking twists.

If you haven’t read Fiona Cummins other books I highly recommend them including When I Was Ten that is a doozy of a standalone. The kitchen is a scene of breakfast interrupted, warm coffee not finished, half eaten bowls of cereal, the smell of burnt toast.
