About this deal

The film is very nicely shot too, likely aided by the fact it’s co-directed by one of Hong Kong’s best cinematographers, Arthur Wong. Some of the other details include how she was cast by Corey Yuen – the reasons why; her experience making Yes, Madam! an average viewing experience, but what makes the film work is the presence and enthusiasm of its two leads.

Well, it's pretty much the one area where the only time anyone comments is to say something negative. Ng would be found going it alone and avenging her friend’s death along with finding said microfilm, though she’s partnered up with Scotland Yard’s best of the best Carrie Morris (Rothrock). As in the case of the other movies in this In the Line of Duty I-IV collection, there was an earlier Blu-ray from CMS in HK, as well as a UK-exclusive Eureka release that I assume utilizes the same 2K remaster as this 88 Films disc.

When things don’t go to plan, they go on a violent rampage through Hong Kong, and the only ones standing in their way is a newly promoted police cadet and a Japanese cop with a personal vendetta. The Audio Commentary by Frank Djeng on the HK Version continues the critic’s great deep dive into the world of In the Line of Duty. In the Line of Duty IV comes fitted with Cantonese and English mono dub options, both in uncompressed DTS-HD Master Audio. In Japan, a couple of thieves target a fashion show for the jewels, and unleash a massacre that among others takes the life of the young partner of veteran cop Fujioka. Some minor filtering looks to have also been applied at varying degrees, yet the image doesn’t come off waxy looking, as Royal Warriors could.

This film contains so much Hong Kong style martial art action and there are enough crazy stunts that if you are remotely interested in this kind of film, then this movie would be a very wise purchase. It’s obvious right from the start that she’s a force to be reckoned with; her skills in martial arts are incredible, and she has no problem speaking up for herself when she’s being pandered to and disregarded by her superiors.KayKay on Jake Gyllenhaal goes full on Jackie Chan in the Trailer for Doug Liman’s ‘Road House’ also starring Conor McGregor Eh. Alas, I can’t be as enthusiastic about the Cantonese audio, and once again I find myself lamenting the lack of a Home Video remix. Kong Yi-an on Watch the Trailer for Jet Li’s ‘Black Mask’ releasing on Blu-ray on April 22 from Eureka Entertainment Is there any info on the original manhua out there? The Audio Commentary by Hong Kong Film Expert Frank Djeng begins with his bonafides and the various titles Royal Warriors went under around the world.

Leider ist "In the Line Of Duty" mit Donnie Yen hierzulande, und überhaupt im deutschsprachigen Raum, schwer erhältlich. It’s not the most insightful of tracks, with Hammond often pointlessly describing the plot we already know after having watched the film, and Wong simply admiring the stunts. When a posh fashion / jewelry show is sabotaged by a pair of daring freedom fighters (Stuart Ong and Michiko Nishiwaki) who kill scores of bystanders and make off with millions in jewels, a tough cop is murdered, while his partner – Inspector Otaka (Hiroshi Fukioka) – is wounded and takes responsibility for his friend’s death.

I can always appreciate a good kung-fu action movie, especially one in a contemporary setting, even if I have plenty of nits to pick with the story as I do with In The Line of Duty III. Over the past few months, Eureka have gradually been releasing the first four and best-known films from the In the Line of Duty series (which runs up to 9 films in total). Frank Djeng’s commentaries are, as usual, crammed with facts about and filmographies of the cast and crew, as they appear. With 88 Films at the helm, we can expect high-quality transfers and special features that will make this a must-have for collectors and fans alike. From then on, Luk struggles to survive as the drug dealers repeatedly try to take him out and the police continue to treat him like a wanted man, not helped by the fact he escapes custody and heads back to Hong Kong. Besides, as often happens with Hong Kong films marketed overseas, even films loosely connected by cast and/or genre can be bundled as series. Being an In the Line of Duty film though, we have, of course, a tough female police officer to stop the bad guys. Film’s partnership with him is what caused Mike Leeder and Arne Venema to stop doing business with them. Still, the film moves very quickly and feels like a slick entry in the annals of Hong Kong action cinema with almost nonstop gunfire, explosions, and close quarters fisticuffs.
