About this deal

A trapezoidal protrusion below the bottom bezel houses the TV’s infrared sensor, far-field microphone array (in some regions), microphone mute switch, and Google Assistant LED. Finally, it has low input lag and supports every variable refresh rate (VRR) technology, ensuring a responsive, nearly tear-free gaming experience. Proper HDR requires 10-bit color and 1,000 nits of brightness though, and the U7QF falls short on both counts.

Furthermore, in some ways, it's even better for gaming than the more expensive Hisense due to the U7K's faster overall response time. It also has fantastic peak brightness in HDR, and thanks to its impressive local dimming feature, blacks look dark, inky, and uniform in a dark room, and bright highlights stand out incredibly well. Much like in the US, Hisense UK makes a ton of different TVs from low-cost 720p HD TVs all the way up to expensive OLED sets.Other HDR picture modes may look brighter but they do not follow the PQ EOTF standard and push brightness, which just makes images look flat and bright with no dynamics or pop.

It’s not 120Hz, which is a shame, nor has freesync it seems, but it’s hardly a gaming display and as far as a TV goes it’s decent. What’s more, these TVs are often extraordinarily competitive in terms of specs, features, and pricing. On the A7G, this mode is Cinema Night with all unnecessary processing switched off manually and gamma set to 2. does reach the claimed 90% coverage with the saturation tracking also doing a decent job of aiming for accuracy with WCG content. Unfortunately, the TV has a narrow viewing angle, so it's not a great choice for a wide seating arrangement. Hisense makes use of a variety of different smart TV platforms, depending on the set you’re watching, including the third-party Roku and Android TV platforms. This is what we would expect to see at this end of the market and means that the HDR picture performance, even in Dolby Vision, will only have a peak brightness of 250 nits before clipping.
