About this deal

Gnomes at Night is a cooperative maze game for 2-4 players ages 6+ that takes about 15 minutes to play. In this quick-thinking Gnomes At Night adventure, a jewel thief snuck into the castle at night and made off with the Queen's highly prized treasures. My first experience with a cooperative board game was a couple of decades ago before we ever had kids. The thief was last seen running through the winding maze of the castle, dropping the objects along the way. It’s unavoidable that there is some down time with more than two players playing, but the spectator aspect of Gnomes at Night is strong.

I don't think you can play it over and over again like some games, because after awhile it becomes easy as you learn how to do it. Creative Child Magazine's Toy Awards Program is unique in that all products submitted are reviewed by many people, including moms, music educators and early education professionals. To thank them, she will give away 12 extraordinary items from her treasure box that she keeps hidden away in a secret chamber in the castle. But when the Queen goes to choose the items that she wants to bestow, she discovers the box is empty!

I was surprised to learn that this has become one of his favorite games and he was anxious to play it with nana. It is a co-operative game which is more than just playing and having fun, it is also working together! Our son teamed up with Mom for the first round (the one where we only found two treasures) - but once he understood the game he was ready to captain his side of the board completely alone and dominate. The Parents' Choice Recommended Seal indicates that our committees found the product distinguished enough to give it a notch above our "Approval" rating. Founded in 1978, Parents' Choice is the nation's oldest nonprofit consumer guide to quality children's books, toys, music and more. Most know the classics like Monopoly and Clue, either of which make for an evening of fine entertainment, but if you want to venture out into more unknown board game territory, it’s all too easy to spend way too much time figuring out how to set up and play something that ends up being a real dud. In other words, this commendation implies our approval and, even beyond that, our thorough recommendation for reasons of production, appeal and fulfillment of its clear intent.

The thief was last seen running through the castle's stone maze, dropping objects in his haste to get away. INCLUDES: 4 game boards (levels A thru D), 12 treasure cards, 2 game board holders, 2 team cards, 2 magnetic gnome movers, 4 corner-start cards, 1 sand timer and instructions. The Parents' Choice Award seals are recognized throughout the country as the premier mark of achievement in the children's media industry.

Players work together to maneuver the magnetic gnome movers around the mazes to collect all the treasures before time runs out. We are proud to be the oldest and largest distributor of educational toys, teaching materials, and early childhood furniture in Canada. This is the one part that may need some parent supervision as an overeager kid shoving those posts two hard might damage the boards a little.

We love co-operative game like these that the whole family can play together regardless of age or skill and all have a good time! Dad Suggests was created to share with others the many different things that we have loved sharing with our own children. Our mission is to produce engaging articles like reviews, tips and tricks, game rules, strategies, etc. I think the specific ways in which you must move and work together could cause a lot of frustration without adults around to keep it on track. Our co-operative games have simple themes that interest children and will encourage a healthy attitude towards working together and listening!
