I gathered a new idea just this week from the book and even though the floral fabrics are dated - looking at the shapes and color ways i have a new quilt brewing in my mind. His color choices and ability to pull colors from scenes, buildings, collections, or just nature, are what make this book stand out from the hundreds of other quilt books. He showed us how he finds inspiration in the smallest things, like the color variations of lichen covered stones or the shade gradations in a geranium leaf. Each chapter contains a range of patchworked quilts, from simple designs suitable as a weekend project for beginners to more complex quilts which provide a challenge for more experienced patchworkers.
