Just put a lot of old interview footage together with plenty of concert clips and boom, you got a "documentary".

Featuring David Bowie, Roger Daltrey, John Deacon, Def Leppard, Guns 'N' Roses, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Seal, Robert Plant, Paul Young and Zucchero. The concert was recorded on videotape so it will never look as good as something put on film but considering the 10 year old source, I really don't think it'll get any better than this. The band later released in 2021 a re-mixed and re-mastered version of their performance as well as a rendition of Queen's Stone Cold Crazy with James Hetfield and Tony Iommi on the remastered box set of their album Metallica.

This is an interesting development in presenting SD material on Blu Ray but so far I have purchased 2 (the Bee Gees being the other) and have been very pleased with both. The concert was broadcast live on television and radio to 76 countries around the world from the USA to Russia. The flamboyant Mercury was always in his element before gigantic crowds like the one that filled Wembley one last time, and his stand-ins for the occasion -- Gary Cherone (then of Extreme), Roger Daltrey, Joe Elliott (Def Leppard), James Hetfield (Metallica), Elton John, Annie Lennox, George Michael, Liza Minnelli, Robert Plant, Axl Rose (Guns N' Roses), Seal, Lisa Stansfield, Paul Young, and Zucchero -- were artists who both knew how to work such audiences and also had at least some of his flair for performing. Clips of rehearsals and of Metallica's set (as well as James Hetfield's performance of "Stone Cold Crazy" with Queen and Tony Iommi) were featured in the 1992 documentary A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica. The show marked bassist John Deacon's final full-length concert with Queen (save a short live appearance with Brian May, Roger Taylor and Elton John in 1997). It went without a hitch with Lennox powerfully delivering Freddie's lines (and molesting Bowie on stage. Given the large number of acts, the sound and quality was always going to be less than perfect and that wasn't the point of the day.
