The sound is upgraded to a Dolby Atmos track for the Hong Kong cut, but I do not have a Dolby Atmos setup so I can’t review this new track.The trick here is that both formulas require a lot of time for set pieces, either elaborate fisticuffs or extended slapstick antics. Watch the Trailer for the Jordan Peele-produced ‘Monkey Man’ directed by and starring Dev Patel he dresses like Wick but this has a Tony jaa loves elephants vibe as well. The credited director is up for debate as both Hung’s and Chan’s names were on the slates (as evidenced by the outtakes), but the results were nonetheless entertaining. But when he falls for a beautiful woman out to stop the plant, Jackie is torn in a conflict of interest and asks his trusty friends Samo and Biao to help out at least until they discover the true purpose of the plant. Their 2023+ line-up for Asian Cinema will include God of Gamblers, Gorgeous and a re-release of Snake and Crane Arts of Shaolin.

Plus, both the Hong Kong and CYCLONE Z versions each feature Cantonese audio in Dolby Atmos format with optional English subtitles, as well as an English mono hybrid dub and optional SDH subtitles.This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who has griped about the quality of Fortune Star restorations, but it’s worth noting here that the encode handles that sometimes-uneven grain very well and lets the Dolby Vision HDR layer pull as many nuances out of the details as possible. You have to wade through some unpleasant, overbearing courtship sequences to get to them, but there are some genuinely funny jokes, too – and I say this as someone who isn’t always susceptible to the ‘80s Hong Kong brand of comedy. You simply can’t go wrong with any of these tracks, although I give the top prize to the Dolby Atmos presentation of the original Cantonese-language track. Films flop when popular actors try and stretch themselves and move out of their comfort zones, and inadvertently move out of audience comfort zones in the process.
This is an otherwise highly comprehensive and satisfying package for longtime fans of Dragons Forever, featuring all three cuts of the film and a bevy of bonus materials to dig through in attractive packaging. There’s a more screwball antics here with slapstick occurring but not as much as there is the sort of upstairs-downstairs complications that occur. Another word that is bounded around too often as well with transfers is “Perfect”, but this is the rare case where Perfect is applicable. Discussing Dragons Forever (7:00, HD) – The professor, former editor of Cinema Journal, and author of Eros Plus Massacre: An Introduction to the Japanese New Wave Cinema (Midland Books, 1988), David Desser, celebrates Jackie Chan career and compares Project A to Dragons Forever . This is a must own release and it will happily see an entry on my “Best of” list at the end of the year.However, after falling for the fishery's owner, Miss Yip (Deannie Yip), Jackie begins his own investigation into the factory's activities.
