About this deal

Inbetween my pre-judging in the morning and the afternoon where I had to be on stage I had a photoshoot with RE:PLICA / MikoBura, who also has an account here: bura She is also a cosplayer and a huge Dragon Ball fan. Even though I didn't like the fit around my fingers, I was quite content with how I made the outer shape (I used a likewise method as how I made the boots covers).

I also met up with a Roshi at the same convention and he was so completely in-character I couldn't stop laughing.

D I always like to make overviews/stories like this as it's also a good diary and memory for myself about such a huge project. Seriously, industry-professionals having a Youtube channel that they use to show how they make their amazing stuff are the best! I checked all the photographers from last years' competition and a few new ones, but almost everyone seemed to have skipped going to the solo competitions and I only found pictures from the duo and group competitions.

If someone that studied fashion/clothes design or a professional clothes/costume maker sees this, he/she would probably smack me on the back of my head. The best way to fix this mess was filling everything up that I damaged, re-sand it and repaint a lot of parts over again. View spoiler Hide spoiler Sorry for the blurry picture of the shoulderplates, but with work-in-progress if my pictures turn out bad, I can never re-make them because I'm already at the next step! On the other hand a few things on stage went bad, so I think I'm not that sad about it, as I would prefer not to see it back as I don't feel very comfortable about it. Normally I'm not the type for video-tutorials (I prefer pictures), but when a friend showed me his Youtube channel I was hooked!I had quite a hard time finding the right shade of dark blue, but I'm pretty content with how this color turned out! I always think it's funny how parts look burned so quickly, but nothing of that will be visible after undercoating and painting! For some reason I had the bright idea that I could use small pieces of foam to cover the gaps I had inbetween the detailing and the helmet itself. In some of the newer games and media young Chi-Chi's design has more blue-ish green, so I got quite some comments why I didn't go for that color version, but I think this bold green is a lot better. But hey, it was my first time I made a helmet, so I just brushed it off and started working on a version 2 from the things I've learned!
