About this deal

No need to rush, just for reference for if in the future when anybody wants to find these rare sparklers rolls. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.

However, what I found is that if you access the FP-10 via the Roland Piano Partner 2 app, you can actually access all the sounds from the FP-30, which is pretty cool. Lastly, while the range of sounds is pretty close on both the FP-10 and S1100, the non-piano tones are slightly better on the FP10. The speaker trade-off is a better bass presence on the FP-10 despite less amplifier power, but slightly better clarity and overall detail on the S1100. Sturdily built and thoughtfully designed, the FP-10 includes a sheet music holder, a sustain pedal port, and a stereo mini-jack output for headphones or external speakers. As with most if not all modern digital pianos you get additional sounds to the standard concert grand you would expect – including organ, electric pianos and strings.I find the main tone the most satisfying and “universal”, plus you can always tweak it to your liking. The sound and feel of an acoustic grand Roland’s advanced piano technologies offer superior tone and touch that will satisfy the most experienced pianists. The FP-10 is also using a downward-facing dual speaker system, but with no tone ports and only 12 watts of power. Gig anywhere with powerful onboard speakers Due to size limitations, the onboard speaker systems in typical portable pianos only produce sufficient sound for playing and practicing at home. now we have one more option to acquire these rolls, and this information is registered here for future reference.

As the feel and sound (through headphones) of the FP-10 and FP-30 are identical, if your piano is going to stay put in a small-to-medium sized room, the FP-10 may well be plenty of piano for you. The FP-10 includes 17 songs to listen to (classics mainly by Chopin and Debussy), and play along with, and a further 15 songs that demonstrate the instrument sounds built into the piano. Offering a wider selection of onboard sounds and more powerful internal speakers than the FP-10, it’s an affordable-yet-highly expressive instrument that will support you at every step of your musical journey. Sign up to the Roland UK monthly newsletter and look forward to the latest gear news, artist-related features, how-to guides and much more in your inbox. Moreover, you can easily navigate the FP-10 using Roland’s Piano Partner 2 app (via an iPad for example). While it’s good to have as much polyphony as possible to ensure the full sound, I wouldn’t worry too much about this parameter. The fact that the 88-note FP-10 has the same sound engine and feel as the FP-30 makes the FP-10 very attractive, but there are some potentially important drawbacks compared to the FP-30. Notably, two 6W speakers eliminate the need for additional equipment and provide sufficient volume for room levels.

As with many Casio instruments, the PX-160 offers a lot of features that are not available on its competitors and are only found in more expensive models. Honestly, as a piano for a DAW I can't really tell the difference between the key action of the CDP-S100 and PX-S1000 except for the obvious velocity issue. With high-resolution sensing and escapement for fast key repetition, the PHA-4 keyboard faithfully translates into sound the subtlest differences in dynamics and tone.I use it at its default touch setting and make the finer curve adjustments, if needed, in the software.

Onboard Bluetooth makes connecting to apps such as Roland's own PianoPartner2 easy and USB MIDI also enables use as a controller with DAW software. The pHA4 is a graded keyboard - the lower octaves are slightly heavier in touch compared with the upper registers - just like a traditional acoustic grand piano. Roland offers the free Piano Partner 2 app for the digital piano, which expands the range of functions. Just trying to resolve in my mind whether to persue leads with a few paper manufacturers or bid my time and wait for TAS type sales.Featuring 15 distinctive sounds, including six grand and upright pianos, convincing reverb and "brilliance" effects, and a polyphony of 96 voices - the Roland FP-10 is both versatile and expressive. So, you need to be sure to save your settings using the Memory Backup function if you intend to use them again. However, it’s important to mention that unlike its competitors, the FP-10 comes with a few extra elements (string resonance, key off resonance) added to the piano sound, making it more realistic, even though those things are quite subtle. By the way, I do not have FP-10 anymore- I considered FP-30X but got A-88 mkII MIDI controller and use Pianoteq sound emulation.
