About this deal

In the book’s accompanying text, drawing on a lifetime’s passion for 3-D , Brian explains the origins, theory and practice of stereo photography. Brian, creator of the 21st-century incarnation of the London Stereoscopic Company (LSC), has become an Internet evangelist for 3-D photography in recent years.

Satan Journaliste" ("Satan the Journalist") by Louis Alfred Habert, one of the stereo cards featured in "Diableries," a new book by Brian May, Denis Pellerin and Paula Fleming. I am particularly interested in how photography can help people express their creativity more effectively, or deal with mental health issues and other challenges. Stereoscopic pictures are so much more evocative than “normal” ones and this book became a fantastic opportunity to show this off.The range of subjects in these entirely new stereo pictures is immense, with more than 100 contributing photographers finding inspiration in Nature, people, pets, architecture, the sky above, and much more. People had a stereoscope and a stack of cards on the parlour table, and when friends came they would look at stereos. While it works well, he finds it frustrating that phone makers are not building a similar functionality into their phones. While getting books signed by Brian May, visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the wonders of the exhibition – “Stereoscopy Is Good For You: Life in 3-D”. We've all seen 'Avatar,' and I love the 3D movies -- but in fact, the Victorian version is a more perfect way of of getting stereoscopic information to your brain.

Viewing the stereoscopic work of others, we find ourselves completely transported to the place and time when their picture was taken. This is a very nice app and is very cheap, considering the developer, Masuji Suto, updates it for free. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Brian May asked a new generation of stereo photographers around the world to show us what kept their spirits up during and following the lockdown period. We have a yearning to hear things from a vinyl record, because there’s something in your head which just loves that smoothness of a real analogue signal. Not only is the rockstar and stereo photographer celebrating the publication of Stereoscopy Is Good For You: Life in 3-D – a publication he deems to be one of the most important photography projects of his career – but the signing also marks the first opening of a dedicated stereoscopic outlet in London since 1854. Perhaps the most enduring images are of pets – people got particularly close to their pets during lockdown and you really feel that bond. As soon as you look at them in the stereoscope, you're walking into a parallel universe of skeletons and devils.
