Think it's partly to do with the differing ways that mmi interfaces with things plugged into ami on different models, years and versions of mmi, making compatability a problem. However, just plugged it in, paired it to my samsung galaxy s8 no problem and played some stuff through spotify. Long story short: Are there any aftermarket devices I can plug into the AMI jack to act as a "receiver" so that I can play content through the car stereo? WITH nav, streaming bluetooth comes form the factory, info with display on screen and steering wheel controls work, correct? I have bought two of these, one for my 3g MMI so I would need to to the above but one to do by wifes car which just has the 3.

had a factory fitted MMI3G Low so started using an aux cable which I quickly replaced by an AMI cable (straight swap of the aux green connector for the AMI one on the back of the quadlock) and a tune2air.
