About this deal

one of the best crime thrillers I’ve read in a long time, and that includes… authors such as James Patterson!

There is a reference, in one conversation between one cop to another with a reference to the place and it being the inspiration for a very famous place in another book.

Sembra il frutto di una ricetta: prendi 200 grammi di moralismo, lo mescoli con mezzo litro di spirito ribelle, un pizzico di pseudo-humor, una spruzzata di immaturità… e voilà! The dialogue is excellent; sassy, smart and taking no prisoners where work is concerned, through to the a concern for the feelings of others whose life have been blighted by the 'facility'.

The secondary characters on the force are still shoved a little too far into the background to get a true reading of them, but I’m sure their personalities will flesh out as we go along. Wow … fantastic … gripping … hooks you in from chapter one … you won't want to put it down once you start. Years later, a headmistress is found strangled, the first in a spate of gruesome murders which shock the Black Country.

I was hooked from the first page and Having read all of KL Slater's previous novels I took the precaution of clearing my afternoon and evening before reading the first page and I'm glad I did as I barely moved from my sofa until I'd reached the end.

The mystery is good and ends up quite convoluted as they seek not just a murderer from the present but also one from the past. I've read every book by this author and I always end by saying it's my new favourite and this one is no exception. She lives in the Black Country, in the West Midlands of England, with her partner and their two Golden Retrievers.

This book had me gasping in shock, then shedding tears at moments of extreme compassion and tenderness. Silent Scream is a story of secrets that some thought long buried, and the consequences of years of deceit and cover up. A permit is granted to excavate a field beside an old children's home, leading to human remains being discovered and old employees suddenly picked off one by one. Enter, stage left, Detective Inspector Kim Stone, a strong, no nonsense character that you are going to love. Book 3 has just gone in to editor a …more Hi Helena, yes there are definitely more Kim Stone books to come.

Three evenings and the book is finished, and all I can think is I can’t wait for more from Angela Marsons and DI Kim Stone! Kaufempfehlung für alle, die Spaß an der detailreichen Darstellung von Polizeiarbeit und Psychogrammen haben.Kim is damaged and her past is fed to us in small doses as the story of her challenge to solve the murders progresses. I also like that there is a balance between the crime investigation process and the character portrayal. She was sarcastic, fiery, determined, and never failed to go with her intuition, even when told not to. Yes, your protagonist pulls no punches and has all the social grace of an angry rottweiler at times, but heck, she likes bikes. Angela Marsons has just become my Favourite Crime/Thriller Author, and i can’t wait to see what else she will come up with!
