About this deal

Many forget that SAF was also manager of Scotland at Mexico '86 following the passing of Jock Stein after Scotland's final world cup qualfier against Wales, and the account of his experiences serving as assistant manager to 'Big Jock' cannot but touch even his greatest detractors. The narrator has a Scottish accent which grows on you to such an extent that now my mind has accepted it as Alex Ferguson's real voice. Sir Alex Ferguson was able to create a much envied, welcoming, and purposeful culture at the club that stood the test of time.

I bought the book for my son although he is not a Manchester United fan he admires Alex Ferguson and wanted to read about him. I also didn't like the way it was written, it was full of individual chapters about specific people, clubs, events, etc. Alex Ferguson is an entertaining, celebratory, inspiring, and revealing autobiography of arguably the best football manager in British football. The Mail on Sunday in their review stated ‘Ferguson emerges from this account as a genuine national hero, one of the great Scots of the 20th century. I have never been a massive fan of autobiographies, as, in the main, they do tend to be self-indulgent drivel and this is no exception. This is the better of the two Ferguson books and the one which is a real autobiography and will tell you things you didn't necessarily know, about his background growing up, playing career and so on. In 1978, he was on the move once again as he was hired to manage Aberdeen Football Club in Scotland.

He has won many awards and holds many records including winning Manager of the Year most times in British football history. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Red hardback(gilt lettering to the spine) with Dj(small tear on the edge of the back Dj cover,a couple of nicks, crease and scratches on the Dj cover),both in near fine condition. Reading: this is something that I have to say that I find surprising in this age, the relatively few and getting fewer people who read. I grew up in Manchester with him and for most of my formative years in London, he and Manchester United were with me. Red hardback(gilt lettering to the spine, small nick on the edge of the spine) in fine condition, with Dj(a couple of small nicks, scratches and crease on the edges of the Dj cover) in near fine condition.

He was knighted in 1999 for his services to the game and also holds the Freedom of the City of Aberdeen.Born in Glasgow in 1941, Sir Alex Ferguson was playing football at an international level as a school boy. Ferguson chronicles of all the things he has contributed to the beautiful game and takes credit for a few tenuous achievements besides.
