About this deal

The individual's struggle for self-control is subtly conveyed in George's story, which manages to make old concept fresh thanks to George's winning personality and a vibrant, jazzy artistic style. However for George the cake looks just too delicious to resist and we are shown him having gobbled it all up. This illustrations are simple but "funny as all get out", and I fell I love with the expressions on George's face! George is a dog with all the best intentions, and his owner, Harry, has all the best hopes that George will be a well-behaved dog when he leaves him alone for the day.

the bright primary colors help to convey a sense of excitement and focus, as non-essential details are often white with only a small outline.

Kids will relate to this dog who has every intention of being good, but just can't help himself when tempted. The two-page spread of George with his mouth open like some sort of gaping steam shovel, having just bitten off a third of the cake, is roll-on-the-floor hilarious.

It operates as a non profit and aims to connect the worlds best designers with fair trade organisations. I love how relatable this book is, I think the illustrations are different and genuinely funny and I adore George. Anniversary Edition By Chris Haughton It's hard work being good all the time – and it's especially hard for a dog like George! When they subsequently go out for a walk, George stops himself from chomping on the cake (that is part of someone’s picnic), stops himself from chasing a cat (who is surprised), and stops himself from digging. If you are under 16, please obtain your parent/guardian’s permission before submitting or ask your parent/guardian to submit on your behalf. It's good to open up discussions about what they'd do in George's place and what they actually should do in George's place! George's facial expressions (for instance, a subtle positioning of his ears) and body language (a paw gently offering his favourite rubber ducks as an apology) are full of humour, and will prompt young readers to delve in and pick out all the funny details in the pictures. My favorite is the ending of George next to a trashcan, leaving the decision up to the reader of what George will do next. He then feels remorse for making a mess and upsetting Harry, this is the turning point as you see George’s character grow.
