This Story is poorly written, makes no sense and is very boring compared to some of the earlier titles in the Series. The biggest problem with it is that you can see the opposition’s point, how they can think what they do. That said I did love seeing Reacher having to become a fugitive across America as he was hunted down my multiple agencies for crimes he may or may not have committed. Police from the 75th MP, led by Warrant Officer Pete Espin, later take him into custody and bring him to the same prison where Turner is held. Lately, (or maybe it’s always been this way) the stories seem to take place in a very small geographical area.Reacher finds that, a) Major Turner has been arrested and placed in a cell off base, b) he is accused of a 16 year old murder and c) that he has fathered a child and being sued for maintenance and of course the 'icing on the cake' well as far is the efficient Colonel is concerned, is that he has just drafted Reacher back into the Army as a Major, making him subject to all military regulations. Combining an intricate puzzle of a plot and an exciting chase for truth and justice, Lee Child puts Reacher through his paces--and makes him question who he is, what he's done, and the very future of his untethered life on the open road.
