Ok… I felt like I went through some dark crazy alluring mystery that has left me suspended in not wanting to go to sleep for fear of dreaming about a haunting castle that gives me the creeps, or just having a sly smirk on my face permanently because I enjoyed the heck out of these characters despite their crazy!

But little did she know that she would uncover secrets not only her own but the Blackthorns themselves,getting caught between the arms of the cursed man himself who is like the ghost story that kids tell eachother.Lucian Blackthorn is NOT an asshole,I’m saying this again if you didn’t believe it the first time,HE IS NOT AN ASSHOLE and this is a dark romance,given his past traumas and all but still he isn’t an asshole,go figure. Keri is an amazing storyteller, her writing made me feel everything and the way she was slowly revealing all the secrets about Isa and Lucian kept me so intrigued! Shouldering a dark past with mysterious galore, he is one of the dangerous man ruling from his castle.

I think this book could've been about 70 pages shorter, had those scenes been handled differently and a lot of them cut out. I really enjoyed this read and I think the author did a wonderful job with incorporating the past and present because those chapters flowed nicely and we learned more about Lucian’s past.Um encontro entre uma jovem de 19 anos, excluída socialmente, lutadora e com uma história sofrida, com um homem rico, quebrado, de 32 anos visto como um demônio pela sociedade e cheio de mistérios no seu passado. The main female character is this outcast who is described as an exotic raven beauty with a tattoo that says "invulnerable" on her arm. Em uma atmosfera sensual e sombria, segredos são descobertos, mentiras contadas e dúvidas surgem sobre o que é real e o que foi imaginado. And that got tedious fast, I started even skimming some of the scenes of from his past and POV because I found them too long, too descriptive and sometimes unnecessary. THE ROMANCE IN THE SECOND HALF of the book starts to pick up significantly and it definitely gets pretty heated!

This is the dangerous combination I truly adore: a gothic mansion made of bones, dark, intense, erotic, horrific, psychological, soul crushing story: Beauty and the beast meets Phantom of the Opera and Jane Eyre! They were meant to be together and find love and help each other to put old ghosts to peace so that they could be happy together. She wasn't our typical weak heroine, which I appreciated immensely, and she even had her great sassy moments, so there's that. Soon her past presents itself and things we learn of the secret lurking right under our noses was shocking. The first 30% of the book was the most disturbing part of the book for me, and I'm glad it took a different direction after it. When he hires a young beauty to be his mother’s companion and live at the house, Lucian has no clue that this woman is going to work her way into the organ that he thought was once rotten and black.
